Where did the idea that The Left is the side that loves corporations and is loved by corporations come from? I keep seeing righties saying that The Left is a faction rallying behind corporations, NGOs, bankers, and so on. Is it just desperate people spinning the fact that Google and Facebook love good PR more than they love racists as undeniable proof that the enemy is supported by evil corporations, and that corporations are evil because of Big Government?

Republicans will say literally anything that portrays the other side as evil and gets themselves elected. There's zero consistency, zero integrity, and their voter base eats it up like a tub of deep-fried sticks of butter on Independence Day because it makes them feel like winners.

We need MORE regulations. Not stupid ones like "don't tear off this mattress tag", and not ones that put unfair burden on small businesses, but ones that limit the bullshit megacorporations have been pulling in the last 20/30 years.

Its funny cause their president just slashed federal wage increases because of the tax cuts he gave to big corporations. But by his logic companies where suppose to responsibly increase there wages because of these tax cuts. Its just proof that corporations don't responsibly self-regulate, I don't know why we keep having this argument when its proven time and time again its false. Then again this is the party that denies the fundamental foundations of science when it suits them, even though this same scientific process has given them the ability to spread there garbage on the air and on youtube. I also know some Trump supporters who think Trump is broken up about McCain dying, people are fucking stupid. But whatever, if we can agree to curb stomp Bezos and mega corporations then its a win for me.

No, I meant shutting it down. Jon Stewart came on Crossfire on October 15, 2004 -- Crossfire was canceled in January 2005 because Carlson left to take a job at MSNBC and the CEO of CNN stated "he wanted to change the tone of shows on the network, and in interviews said he sympathized with Jon Stewart's criticisms of Crossfire." So, yeah, literally -- he made too much sense and so CNN shut the program down after one of its hosts decided to leave after Jon's appearance to go onto another network.

If only CNN took Jon's other criticisms of their network seriously.

He understands that there is a tug of war between the third way, centrist Democrats and the progressive wing of the party and the idea here is to have the latter make an argument something along the lines of "The left doesn't care for corporations, that's just the establishment Democrats". Imo it goes back to the 2016 Election when both sides were big on the anti-establishment candidates, and the Democratic primary pit Bernie Sanders and his grassroots campaign of private donors and union endorsements against Hillary Clinton and her establishment endorsers and wall street backers. After that they just latched onto the idea that Democrats are pro-corporate, which is largely true, but both parties are very pro-corporate.

The only reason they give a shit is because Bezos owns the Washington Post and Trump is generally attacking the tech sector because they lean left and don't censor bad news stories about him. Prepare for the shmear
