Nah, it's a common sort of design when it comes to 'I need shoes that are more or less my feet but with padding' called 'split-toe'.

They're based on Japanese jika-tabi, a sort of sock/shoe hybrid that's sturdy enough to be used as footwear but with a soft enough sole that you can easily feel the ground beneath you through it, which would probably be an advantage while parkouring.
