This is probably the clearest and best footage captured of the whole ordeal, the camera man did a fantastic job.

Holy fuck I don't think I have ever seen it this up close and raw. It really puts a whole new perspective on it.
I remember going through those glass doors as a toddler to see my dad (he's alright) and playing in the daycare. This is fucking terrifying.
Fucking hell, that footage after the second tower collapses looks like an entirely different planet. Looks like the footage from the Soviet Venera 13 probe.
A lot of those people who were breathing in that smoke are going to have lung cancer in a few years...
nice to see more footage every year
It's surreal to see people cracking the occasional joke even under these conditions.
This guy is like a real life night crawler
How fucked up do you have to be to see a building collapse then run into the ash cloud to get a hot scoop?
If he had been a minute later, he would have fucking died filming the collapse of the north tower
Christ he even filmed people running away from what they thought could be their deaths.
Now that's what I call dedication, holy shit. Really good camera quality too I am absolutely impressed.
Natural instinct to relieve anxiety and fear I believe. Same reason why soldiers crack jokes in combat.
I was about to say the same thing. It's obviously a terrible thing but as I get older, putting together more and more of what happened from the event is really fascinating since I was so young when it occurred.
I remember first hearing when it happened, being around 12 years old, understanding it for the most part but being confused and angry. Then getting older, and seeing it become a meme (jet fuel steel beams, etc.)... admittedly laughing along, guess that makes it easier to deal with even years later. Now in my late 20's, sitting down and paying attention to this, then rewatching the news coverage from that day.
Christ, I still can't fully grasp that it happened. Fills me with all kinds of emotions.
Anyone know of any magical way I could identify each damaged building he's looking at? To be honest, I just wanna know if he sees WTC 7, since it also collapses.
It's crazy that after 17 years I'm still seeing video I haven't seen before... I can't imagine what it would be like if something like this happened today, when everyone has access to cameras and social media to report stuff out instantly. It feels weird since I watched this happen on TV but everything looks so old in the video. The cars, the clothes, etc.
One of the guys he interviewed on the streets:

This footage has actually been around a while, this is just by far the best version of it.
imo the most incredible footage from that day is that cameraman and news reporter who were literally right underneath the tower as it collapsed. I saw it a few years ago but haven't been able to find it since.
I must say that your name and translucent avatar really clash with the solemness of this thread. Still, interesting video.
It's very strange seeing this and knowing that it's real life, something that actually happened and not just some fake found footage movie, that's just something about it that's fascinating.
Man. Looking at it now... America forgot. They really did!
Watching this it's honestly like somebody just went back in time to experience it all over again, the way he's calmly walking around and talking to people, then just standing and filming the cloud from the second collapse thundering towards him. To be fair, I saw this unfolding on TV when I was 14 and sort of just sat in a stunned silence as well, I had an affinity for America when I was younger, New York especially since I'd been trying and failing to build a New York Puzz3D for about 3 years at that point. My brother was in charge of building the WTC half, fucking jinxed it.
I mean. Jon Stewart went and had to raise a stink about it just a few years ago because Republicans were just about ready to let first responders die from complications related to breathing that shit on that day.
PSA reminder that Republicans hate. It's what they do.
Managing to clean the dirt off the lens to get a cleaner shot while the tower goes down is some pro shit, i would just stand there slack jawed
Here's an interesting thread that has archived posts from something awful forums while it was happening, seeing their reactions in real time.
An archived thread from Something Awful on the morning of 9/11
I hope we don't lose threads like that as time goes on. They're interesting little time capsules of history. Imagine if something like that lasted hundreds of years for people to look back on.
And yet there are still people who still think that 9/11 never happened. Fuck conspiracy theorists.
That's a lot of dust when the tower collapses, holy shit.
I've heard of people saying its an inside job, but never happening? Explain?
I mean my brother thinks it's an inside job because of the whole "jet fuel can't melt steel beams" argument and the "thermite sparks" flying from the towers thing.
This video and the one taken from the hotel across the street really fucked me up for like 2 weeks after I watched them. I've been making jokes about 9/11 on this forum for years but those videos showed me that 9/11 was hell on Earth and that there were real people that suffered and died horribly.
What are you talking about? signatures are awesome
