The bad thing was, besides the separation, that the female/NB time cut into a bunch of panels that weren't specific for that group. Thus leaving out a lot of people from attending those game dev panels. Of course, their attempt was bad in general but on top of that they couldn't just do it extra but cut content for all people. In the end they should have provided these kind of extra things at another time and not (on short notice as well) exclude more then half of the people attending PAX without giving replacements for those missed panels.

I mean the issue is that a very small percentage of competitive players are female so statistically a large percentage of the best players will be male, and most likely the very best player will be male. It has nothing to do with "women are just bad" or "women don't practice enough". The one thing TheSyntaX is right about is that women don't need their own league, unlike physical sports there's nothing handicapping indivicual women from being the best of the best any more than any individual male players, the only reason the majority of the best players will probably be male is because the majority of all players is male. I don't care if women get their own exclusive groups to hang out in, minority-only spaces have never bothered me, the reason being that exclusion can't be used as a tool of oppression if it's being done by a minority that's not in a position of power (societally or situationally). But if you're the person organizing such a group it doesn't hurt to not be a condescending asshole about it.

Interestingly women only leagues can hold woman back, they are way more comfortable and easier to make money in them compared to having to deal with the rest. So a lot of woman in eSport don't or don't feel the need to go higher if they are fine with their career.

The thing that's hurting female players getting to the top is actually female only tournaments causing them to stagnate and not care to improve. If I'm on the best female team (literally Main level, basically amateur skill) then what incentive do I have to grind out hours? I'm already being paid insane money to be mediocre, there's no reason to put in the effort when you can just coast and be the best in your gated community. Even if you're a female player whose somehow managed to get to proper semi/pro skill level in the female scene, what incentive do you have to leave your nice salary to go and play in the "male" scene for much less money for a probably very shady org? Whereas if you're a male player on Main level you have actual incentive to improve because you sure as fuck aren't getting paid at that level, but if you can put up some good performances and get noticed you might be able to get onto a team with better prospects of a salary.

Buddy, theres a 15 or 17 year old girl in my country, who's even from my home town (yay), who plays csgo better than a fuckton of people out there. Who could easily pass off as a male gamer on a blind trial. And I'm sure there are many more like her. But hey, why shouldn't there be a women's only league? Yes it's probably just random that you practically never see females in higher esports events. If females are actually less capable than men within stuff like this, as with other sports, it's absolutely not a problem to have female-only events. The fact that this idea makes you get so angry and write so much toxic shit is really telling.
