https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-blasts-union-leader-on-labor-day/ President Trump started his Labor Day with an attack on a top union leader, lashing out after criticism from AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka. Mr. Trump tweeted Monday morning that Trumka "represented his union poorly on television this weekend." He added: "it is easy to see why unions are doing so poorly. A Dem!" The president's attack came after Trumka appeared on "Fox News Sunday" over the weekend where he said efforts to overhaul the North American Free Trade Agreement should include Canada. Trumka, whose organization is an umbrella group for most unions, said the economies of the United States, Canada and Mexico are "integrated" and "it's pretty hard to see how that would work without having Canada in the deal." Trumka also said of Mr. Trump: "the things that he's done to hurt workers outpace what he's done to help workers," arguing that Trump has not come through with an infrastructure program and has overturned regulations that "will hurt us on the job." Asked about the low unemployment rate and economic growth, Trumka said "those are good, but wages have been down since the first of the year. Gas prices have been up since the first of the year. So, overall, workers aren't doing as well." The national average for gas as of Monday is $2.84 a gallon, according to AAA. Gas prices were closer to $2.50 at the start of the year, according to AAA. On Monday, the president also touted the economy, saying "Our country is doing better than ever before with unemployment setting record lows." He added, "The Worker in America is doing better than ever before. Celebrate Labor Day!" The tweet is deleted
Really, any union member who votes for trump might as well try working outside their union for a while. Ya unions have a reputation problem but they're still the only thing that stands for labor and not management. What billionares like Bezos and Musk get wrong about labor is that management is not the average worker's friend, they're their boss. When Musk says he sits at a desk on the floor like everybody else, he's ignorant of the fact that he's worth billions and the intern next to him is wondering how they'll pay for their next month's rent. There's no family in business as much as management wants there to be.
He's not supposed to be deleting his tweets, tsk tsk
He criticized Trump. So naturally Trump has to talk shit about him, because he never lets any slight go by without retaliation. Trump doesn't let people tell him what to do, which is why he's going to try and rip up NAFTA: because everyone, even Republicans in Congress, are telling him not to. And his response to Congress is to back off and not interfere with him, when it's their job to "interfere" (provide oversight and final approval on any trade deals). He's such a simple mind, he's amazingly predictable.

Trunka hasn't even been a union leader since 1995!
Ah I see why Trump's mad at him. On 15 August 2017, a few days after the Unite the Right rally and US President Trump's broadly criticised statements, Trumka quit President Trump’s "manufacturing council" and published a statement, which included the following: "We cannot sit in a council for a President who tolerates bigotry and domestic terrorism. [...] President Trump’s remarks today repudiate his forced remarks yesterday about the KKK and neo-Nazis, [...] We must resign on behalf of America's working people, who reject all notions of legitimacy of these bigoted groups." A labor leader working for Trump never would have lasted.

I wonder if Twitter is explicitly undeleting tweets Trump deletes, because he's not legally allowed to do it. They shelter him from being suspended or banned for things he says, so it's only fair for them to hold him responsible for what he says so that he can't scrub the record and avoid the public finding out and (theoretically) holding him responsible. BTW, you can just : v : to get but most of the oldpunch emotes aren't back.

Seriously, unions have serious issues, but I'm going to be sticking to union jobs as much as I can. Better to have a new manager every month than to be stuck with a totally mentally ill shit-for-brains
