There's still a slight possibility that this isn't true, but an overwhelming amount of screenshots and email evidence point to him being dead. You might think he is just a meme, or some insane crazy racist, but if you ignore all the faults within him that resulted from severe schizophrenia and internet assholes goading him into his fantasies, he was actually a very competent programmer and maybe even a genius. Over the course of 10 years he created an entire operating system by himself, in an attempt to bring the Commodore 64 into modern computing. It was developed alone and entirely with his vision, and is actually a feat of good programming when you look deeper into it. Despite him being enabled by internet trolls, he was a person who was loved by many, on various imageboards, forums, and the like, purely because he was brave enough to be his own man and fight against the system of society that is normally forced upon everyone. He lived his life the way he wanted, and that should be something admirable by itself. Think of him as a bigoted racist, or a spastic, or what have you, but below the mental illness lied a true genius who was unfortunately taken in his prime by the cruel fate of genetics, and was egged on into suicide by complete asswipes who only thought of him as a source of entertainment. This man deserves at least some respect for the things he has accomplished, and I hope he stays in the hearts of everyone who loved him for the rest of eternity. Like I said it's hard to truly confirm it right now, but the consensus is basically that yes he is dead. Here's some screenshots and articles to support this. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/58028/f40800ce-db80-42b5-97c9-9ba15db5b81c/1536100870007.png Train death reported Saturday | The Dalles Chronicle
The CIA niggers will pay for this
Jesus, thats super sad. Ive never managed to get temple os to run, but maybe Ill try again sometime in his memory.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Serious here though, its actually kind of scary how this mans genius was forcefully taken away from him by a horrible illness. Designing your own hand-crafted OS from the ground up is such an insane programming feat, even if it isn't particularly useful. I hope people can be allowed to archive his work. Schizophrenia really is a terrifying thing and seeing someone at least be able to build something like Temple OS is at least a positive thing. it's even more terrifying that people tormented and mocked him because of his illness. He's a man ruined by a bad genetic dice roll, whose reality is skewed by it.
I hope every single person out there who made Terry do this develops schizophrenia themselves and is mentally abused every second for the rest of their waking lives.
those would go against the specification god requested though, and that is something you do not wanna go against

I mean they're terrible people but that's a bit much don't you think?
This dude was completely fucking brilliant and a true genius, had he not been afflicted with his mental issues he could have easily stood at the very bleeding edge of technological development and been an exemplar to pretty much any computer related specialist out there. Creating an OS from scratch requires a MASSIVELY powerful intellect and enormous quantities of persistence/hard work, people who have both are fucking heroes. An analysis was performed on his OS which pointed out that it actually used tech that other operating systems could learn from, including universal files that could simultaneously hold text and images at once and pretty much anything you fucking shoved into them. Another impressive thing about his OS consisted that literally every single thing was linked like a tree and could be followed down to the very barebones of the code. Not to mention that the genius motherfucker coded an enormous amount of shit on TOP of his OS that ran on it, including plenty of immensely interesting games (some of which use full 3D capabilities and terrain generation) and plenty of other games that had wildly original and interesting concepts that could easily be turned into successful and excellent commercial games. as well as other fully functional applications.

That's basically what happened to terry once he started to become popular. People would *constantly* harass him, always trying their hardest to convince him that all his delusions were real.

Dang I had heard he possibly passed away several days ago, but no one seemed to have any concrete proof. Sad to hear that it was true... Can't believe the guy managed to make a full on OS by himself.
I mean he was very mentally ill, what is posting this supposed to accomplish?
His "racism" was more than likely triggered by his mental issues and in actuality it was probably closer to random emotional outbursts that generated the fake racism. Hid mind latched onto the whole race thing and decided to torture him with it.
RIP At least he didn't die a virgin, truly an inspiration for us all.
rest in piece terry hope he's up there in heaven putting images in his text files
If temple os can be used to talk to god, maybe we can use it to contact him. Seriously though it's a shame that such an intelligent person was claimed and plagued by the mental Illnesses that surrounded him.
It accomplishes that you have an interesting habit of posting anything you possibly can pertaining to racists and misogynists on a consistent basis.
The thread is about the templeOS guy, him being a raging racist is kind of a small part of what his wild personality consisted of.
For what it's worth I would have posted this when I first heard about it a few days ago, but decided against it since all the evidence I had at the time was a screencap posted on /g/ and someone called Terry Davis being in custody at a police station on the same day.
Yeah, this video was a window into an episode in progress. He starts out mid-rambling with "wasn't actually sexually assaulted." and just doesn't seem to be addressing anyone or anything in particular. This is 100% down to his mental illness.
I program for a living and I don't even know where to start making my own OS, especially with the kind of amazing shit Temple could do. Sucks so much he had to suffer from this shit, man. On one hand, I wonder how much he could accomplish if he didn't have it - and on the other, I wonder how much of these achievements were directly influenced by it? Genius and crazy tend to have a very blurred line sometimes.
This can't be right, that guy doesn't look like Terry "glow in the dark" Davis. Are we sure this is him?
If all you can get out of the story of a man who made an extremely unique OS from scratch, despite a thoroughly crippling mental illness that probably contributed to his death, is that people only liked him because he said nigger a lot, it is far more a reflection on you (and your hilariously bad understanding of schizophrenia) than anyone else. More importantly and on the topic of the thread, most of the family of Terry have put up memorials and such online. Most are currently friends only because of morons going "haha glowing CIA niggers" on it, but that pretty much confirms that it is not a hoax.
may he glow in the dark
TempleOS is like a digital, one-man Dome of the Rock. The amount of effort that went into it is kind of unreal.
Sounds interesting. Anything where we can learn more about the guy's tech? Shame that the usual suspects just treated him as yet another "lolcow" before casting him aside and convincing him to off himself once they got bored of him. His work sounds fascinating.
What? This never happened.
