“I think it’s embarrassing for the country to allow protesters,” the president said in an interview with the Daily Caller
I think it's more embarrassing that we have you as our president.
I wonder what the second amendment people will think about this attack on the first amendment
Remind me again how the alt right totally supports free speech? Fucking cult.
Yeah the right to assembly is part of the Bill of Rights, even though it's been rather eroded it's here to stay,
he’s literally the most outwardly fascist president we’ve had yet his dumbfuck supporters will still support him
I'd like to hear the right wing extremists who bring up free speech whenever people criticize them defend this.
Since when has Putin's pumpkin ever let something like the constitution or the geneva convention stand in his way?
Surprise, surprise: The GOP has been trending steadily towards fascism since Reagan. This only sped up tenfold following Citizens United vs. FEC. I fear it's inevitable; the US is doomed to become a plutocracy just like Russia with or without Trump. If there was a trickle before, he sure opened the floodgates. As for the Democrats? Give it another decade, they'll be indistinguishable from George W. Bush-era Republicans. They're already far right by Canadian standards, and those of much of Europe.
There are lots of left leaning people in the US, what would they do in this hypothetical?
Totally not a Nazi guys! Quit calling the right fascists!
Well maybe, just maybe, if you'd do a better job at presidenting and not put pure human cancer on the supcourt we might not have need to protest, you fucking cumstain.
They simply no longer have much say, not with your electoral college system.
Citizens United V. FEC was a very important supreme court case because it reaffirmed that corporations were considered people and given the same rights, and further ruled that monetary donations to political campaigns from corporations could thus not be regulated as they were protected under free speech.
Your supreme court legalized bribery that day. And ever since then, the crony capitalism and corporate influence in politics has been steadily growing. That is the real reason Democrats have been pandering to the regressive left - SJWs, BLM, and other such reactionary groups. Just like the GOP panders to single-issue voting blocks like racist degenerates and religious nutjobs. Single-issue voting blocs will throw their votes at you as long as you're saying what they want to hear - it guarantees you a strong base no matter how deep in corporate pockets you are or how badly your policies are going to hurt the common American. That's precisely how Trump was elected. The GOP was doing it a long, long time ago, but that the Democrats have started doing it in earnest proves that neither party is really working in the interests of the people anymore; only their corporate donors.
I still say the Democrats are the lesser evil, but in ten, twenty years, who knows? They might be virtualy indistinguishable from each other. The worst thing is I can't think of a single way to stop it.
There is the method that solved the issue created by the other worst Supreme Court case, Dred Scott v. Sandford, civil war. Or just have to wait 30 years for all the young ultra conservative corporatists to die off
from the court.
Assuming there's even the smallest vestige of democracy left to save in thirty years.
That should be it. Those words should be the spark.
I thought the right was supposed to be the party of free speech lmao you daft cunts
He longs for the good old days where anti-war protesters got hit by weapons malfunctions
He wants the police to give the "uppity blacks" free baths.
This statement alone should be adequate grounds to impeach him, what the fuck?
Republican Senator Bob Corker:
“He doesn’t have healthy respect for the democratic institutions we have here. I was down in Venezuela back in May and the characteristics are definitely the characteristics you get out there, where you award
your friends and criminalize your enemies,” said Corker, who is retiring at the end of his term.
He's getting the fuck out of there, same with Jeff Flake and all other Republicans who care somewhat about the United States.
So we aren't allowed to peacefully protest then?
Rioting it is.
except they say that, and then they continue voting along party lines, see also: mccain
say it with me - DEEPLY CONCERNED
Because they identify with the policies and ideology of the GOP, someone said that Jeb Bush would have picked Kavanaugh over Gorsuch.
Weird considering the amount of protesting he does on Twitter.
How about go fuck yourself, eat a Molotov cocktail
Never let it be forgotten that Tinyhands is not the problem. He is symptomatic of the problem
The Republican party are wholly responsible for the circumstances that have allowed this man to be installed in one of the highest positions of power in the entire world, and they are wholly responsible for keeping him there
I'm sounding like a broken record at this point, but I feel it can never be restated too often
The Republican party has knowingly and voluntarily installed a genuine fascist and an asset of a hostile government in the white house and we have had two years of deafening silence and stunning inaction as he gets worse and worse and worse
And I suppose it's A-OK when HE protests via threatening to revoke something or threatening a government shutdown when he doesn't get his way. Or in other words, only should be illegal when it's against him.
