I'm thinking genuine gameplay footage might be hard to show of 76, aside from shooting mechanics we're all very familiar with already. Might be that they're hoping the open beta will speak for itself, because a lot of 76's mechanical drive comes from having full servers.

It's an experiment to see how multiplayer works in the Bethesda RPG format. It's a Beth RPG without the things Bethesda fails at: plot, characters, motivation, consequences, dialogue

They did the same thing with Fallout 4. I think someone's explanation of the strategy is that once the launch date gets close around the corner they start releasing core gameplay videos to really get the hype up. Why? I don't really remember. But FO4 was the exact same case.

That makes me wonder about how they're going to handle VATS in multiplayer. If someone uses it on another player, are they also forced to use VATS? Are they stuck in place while the VATS player does their thing?

I can't really see it being an enjoyable experience at all to be on the receiving end of it.

I can't wait for all this content getting ported to Fallout 4, so this is a plus.

VATS will be in real time, so if you're crouched (which hides you from the map) and have all the VATS perks, you could get your head blown off with no warning as far as I can tell.
