Federal Communications Commission chair Ajit Pai, the Donald Trump administration plant behind the repeal of net neutrality, is now very concerned about the neutrality of other tech companies.
Following weeks of conservative furor spearheaded by bullshit claims from the president of “SHADOW BANNING” on Twitter and blacklisting on the Google homepage, Pai has penned a letter on the eve of congressional testimony from Twitter’s Jack Dorsey. In the letter, Pai asks tech companies for more transparency about whether they are censoring people willy-nilly. As flagged by Engadget, Pai argued that users have “virtually no insight” into how these platforms reach content moderation or demonetization decisions—something that is true—and implored citizens to “seriously think” about “new transparency obligations.”

🤔
Maybe conservative voices are being "censored" because conservatives increasingly espouse some truly vile opinions and engender conspiracy theories, fake news, and actively run campaigns of misinformation in order to unfairly influence elections and incite violence
Oh so when it affects you then it’s an issue, huh? Please pai, you corrupt fuck. Go on about how you’re so oppressed. I’ll be waiting here watching throttled YouTube videos because you decided not all companies need to treat people equally. Really! Go ahead! No no. This giant mug of mine is just for show.
Private companies should be able to do whatever they want, unless it involves banning people I agree with from a totally optional internet service.
perhaps they're simply judging these conservatives based on the content of their character
How about you go swallow a rake, Pai.
"regulations are bad, corporations should be able to do whatever they want"
"WAIT I DONT MEAN LIKE THIS!"
how about we talk about Conservative News outlets censoring liberals while we're at it.
we've already established logical fallacies don't exist anymore.
I'm 90% sure the only reason this suddenly came up as a topic among conservative politicians is because they need something to rally behind during the midterms due to their party being a dumpster fire in terms of messaging.
Reminder that Alex Jones broke twitter rules that don't apply specifically to conservatives ages before he got banned, then got his account reinstated anyways because... Reasons.
If anything conservatives don't have to play by the rules of most social media platforms because if they ever get banned for anything vile and illicit in the process of espousing their beliefs they screech censorship until they make a big enough stink to get put back up, rules and policy be damned.
If anything, vocal conservatives have more leeway than most on social media platforms. But of course Pai is going to virtue-signal and claim without proof or evidence that conservatives are 'oppressed', and that private companies should bend over backwards to support his political beliefs, despite the fact that his typical platform up until this point has been that companies should be able to do what they want and should be regulated as little as possible.
So in essence, it's a confirmation of what we've known about Pai since he was first instated: That he has no actual convictions and has only been put in this position because he's useful to a few telecom power-players and the republican party in general. Like many Republicans nowadays, Pai follows the party platform of 'maximize donations from massive corporate entities and wall street' and 'foment the increasing extremism of the American right-wing'.
Dude's a worm, pure and simple. Can't wait for him to be relieved of his post.
This comes out literally days after it was revealed that Jack Dorsey overturned Alex Jones's ban from Twitter for constantly breaking the ToS.
Conservatives are like the textbook definition of white privilege. How about you go and floss with some barbed wire, Pai?
that'd be tough considering his throat is already full of corporate cock
How could pai possibly have white privilege?
I think you mean entitlement.
I'm talking conservatives in general because Pai is far from the first moron to bring up this point.
I just feel like this issue has absolutely nothing to do with race at all. Privilege, sure. White privilege? Not really, these behaviors aren't related to or bounded by race.
Well, golly gosh, this sure isn't becoming of the party of small goverment that likes to let the free market solve its own problems now is it?!?
Trump is the biggest douchebag in history, I think this guy might be the biggest tool.
Conservatives being silenced is a myth and just another mark on the self-victimization checklist. Every right winger who parades around on the media that they're being silenced is a liar who wants free publicity by using one of democracy's pillars against itself. That they're getting attention for saying it is already more than enough evidence that they are not only as unsilenced as it gets but also extremely overrepresented because this is like the 20th article this year where a conservative complains about being "un-freedom-of-speech-ed".
Sure, liberal universities and colleges won't host Milo Yianasdfghjklöä and Jordan Peterson but what's a couple universities when you can have the head editor of the New York Times defend you in the paper? What's a couple scathing social media critiques when you can break any rule you wish without repercussions because the Twitter CEO thinks you deserve a voice and then go to your interview on prime time TV? What's being universally ridiculed by anyone still tethered to reality when you have a personal cult that takes every word you say as nothing less than the truth and will harass and murder people at your behest?
Conservatives are the most powerful people in the world and don't let anything convince you otherwise.
It'd be completely possible to "censor" them thanks to you Ajit, all we have to do it throttle their sites and badabing!
Fucking Ajit the idjit
you reap what you sow asshole.
Why the fuck does everyone bring race into things totally unrelated anyway?
All it does is serve to alienate and perpetuate the whole "us vs them" mentality that has been gaining traction for a while.

Maybe Ajit Pai should censor himself in retaliation. That'll totally teach them.
It wouldn't matter if they are, you legalized it ya dickhead
That's not what was legalized. It was never illegal to ban people from your service.

You actually read an article which using the word "bullshit". That's quite sad, enjoy your echo chamber.
Can't say anything good so you literally judge an entire article based on a single word.
Uhm.. and?
Yeah buddy, us smart people only listen to news that has at least 5 uses of "cuck", "libtard", "triggered" and other alt-right buzzwords of the month.
I am very smart intellectual man who thinks for himself.
