God! i need this!
As much hatred as everyone has for Konami nowadays and as much as it would be a 'cheap' way to go, remakes and re-releases of MGS games would still sell like crazy to say the least.
Unless they absolutely maim the games in the process.
All the main games remade in the Fox Engine with the option to swap from overhead to third person would sell like crack.
And costs a lot to produce.
Erasmus Brosdau, huh? the guy behind the Lord Inquisitor project?
Didn't stop Konami from pulling out a lot of the stops in recreating various scenes and such wholesale from MGS3 in the FOX Engine for a goddamn Pachislot game. They were gonna pull out of the gaming industry altogether, and MGS Survive was probably intended to be cashing out what little they could on the way out, but Bomberman R did way better than they were expecting, so it seems they're sticking around and re-evaluating the worth of their franchises like the Zone of the Enders 2 HD re-remaster they released yesterday.
Smash Ultimate is the first time we've seen Solid Snake since what? MGS4?
jesus fuck konami just bring him back for the love of money
Portable Ops remake when
I wonder why he moved to UE4 from Crytek Cinebox
Have you looked at the video footage of the pachinko game? Sure, they redid all important characters in amazing detail and the vehicles but a lot of the environments are either reused or have minor tweaks. The animations are all reused and also that's all non.interactive and in the end. I don't believe the budget and the production time is not even nearly comparable to what a full remake would cost Konami.
You are comparing apples and oranges.
Just putting it out there:
Portable Ops had a more enjoyable story than MGSV. Come at me swinging, I will not back down on this.
No one will deny that MGS5's story was shit. Gameplay was solid but there was nothing to do.
You know it wouldn't be the same now. Isn't it better have your final memories of series and characters be fond ones?
Fox engine remake 100%
Third person in games not designed for them? No.
Twin snakes already did this with MGS1 and largely broke game's balancing - best way to do it is to keep the original design intact, upgrade the graphics and cutscenes and maybe add new content still within the lens of the original design.
I unironically enjoyed playing portable ops, it's story and characters.
Nah bro, Metal Gear Ad!d 2 remake is where it's at.
Sarcasm or not, I honestly see a new continuity or spinoff as the only way to really keep Metal Gear alive in any way that's not persisting on reselling the same stories and games over and over. Even if I have to have a Snake, i'd rather see a new one rather than drag Solid Snake into the spotlight after his story definitively ended in MGS4.
Hey, I actually enjoyed Ac!d 2 a lot than I should, it fixed a whole lot of issues the first Ac!d had and was pretty fun for a spin-off game.
AC!D 3 is always just begging to be made. We never did find out how (and if) Solid Snake died on Lobito Island. I've long wanted a game uncovering that mystery featuring both Snakes, especially if they came into conflict and/or teamed up, allowing us to control both.
Besides that AC!D 2 was released before MGS4. A sequel would mean 5 new decks to play with.
True, but I presumed that Snake was also a clone like how the Snake in Ac!d 2 is.
This is really nitpicky but why was snake moving his head around so much while he was in the tube.
If any game in the series needs remaking it's Peace Walker. One of the better storylines in the series and some solid core gameplay, but horrible, horrible boss battles and some undercooked mechanics that could take serious cues from MGSV.
Replacing the comic book cutscenes with real cutscenes would be great too. I'm not a fan of them.
metal gear acid for mobile! cash in with the virtual trading cards market.
AC!D is non canon and a stand alone universe, seperate from MGS
I just want a god damn Metal Gear Rising sequel already for pete sake.
I know. Just saying the mystery of how Solid Snake died on Lobito Island despite being alive there at the end of MGA could be explored in a sequel.
Speaking of this Ac!d talk, Konami could pretty much release it on steam and make cards from both games sellable on the marketplace, I suppose the get some dosh out of sales. And if they wanted to go a scummy route they could easily make an Ac!d 3 with multiplayer, and have people buy card packs or slap in lootboxes if they wanted to, and still allow them to be sold on the marketplace but prohibit trading :V
