Not gonna lie, this mode looks pretty dope. The inclusion of zombies and it's map is also a big plus.
Looks like a ton of fun. Too many Battle Royale games are trying to be survival or realistic, so it's almost refreshing to see one which is arcadey and actually having fun with the genre with dumb gadgets and vehicles
i like how they incorporated that emergency alert sound into the beat of the song
The zombies Easter egg is gonna so fucking complicated this year.
I'm never interested in games that are purely battle royal, but if it just becomes a game mode next to CTF or Slayer I'll be very happy.
Im confused, is this all one big map? Where do the zombie maps like verrukt come in?
This actually looks decent. They're finally doing a battle royale game with a good looking map instead of copypasted empty houses.
Yes it's all one big map with a 80 player count. Apparently the zombies can be located at 4 locations by a ray of light you can go to. Here's the full scope of the map itself. https://twitter.com/charlieINTEL/status/1037373828844978176
Wait, assuming they are using an updated version of the classic IW engine, I wonder how it handles large maps.
This is actually a dream. I dunno what it is about COD but it's easily one of my favourite online fps' to play, but the confined maps always resulted in a slaughter if the opposing team was comprised of like MLG dicks. Having an open map gives every player a shot at doing well in a match, rather than just watch your team get slaughtered for 10-ish minutes.
iirc black ops 3 engine is heavily heavily modified.
Wow, I have to say, using fan-favorite CoD maps as the named "hot-spots" on the big map is a god damn brilliant idea.
cod's a guilty pleasure of mine, and while i honestly don't think it's gonna turn out great, my interest is nevertheless piqued might just be because i see the locations from blops1/2 and my mind is like "I KNOW WHAT THAT IS!! THINGS I LIKE!" :v
I was pretty certain I was going to completely skip this one but I dunno, it looks kinda fun. Might be a good deal to pick up when it's on sale.
I'll keep my impressions till I actually see people playing it, but as a general idea of what's in the game it looks like it has the potential to be fun.
just admit you like iiiiit
This looks good since when did COD look good?
Makes me wish there was a standalone cheaper access version of this mode only, since the MP beta from before didn't really feel like it's worth the full price. At the very least seeing this really makes me want to get it now in the near future since this looks like it has the potential to be the most fun Battle Royale yet, especially being sick of PUBG's un-optimized monotony and Fortnite's weird RNG arcade shooting mechanics and building gimmick.
Looks alright, although I must admit at 1:17, my mind just registered this: http://www.ww2incolor.com/d/105153-4/arbeit_macht_frei
I've been trying to look away and stay on the righteous and true path of "true shooters" like csgo and SORT OF pubg... but this looks better by the minute... Does this work better than pubg? Does this look less like a clowny mess than Fortnite? I mean, CoD is a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine aswell. Used to love MW2 and MW1, but the ones after were either hit and near miss, or just bad, looking way too complicated. Plus, multiplayer has literaly no one in it a year after or so, and if theres something I hate about a 60 dollar game, is very low longevity. CSGO at the very least has a big competitive scene that pulls me in, and has more or less always the same player count, despite a good bunch of problems here and there. This though... Hmmm, will I bend?!
Nah, like for instance I don't know if any/all of the weapons are hitscan, and how that affects the gameplay. Also having so many players in one match using an engine that was never designed for such a mode, and the resulting bugs that could follow, plus the "instant kill" nature of call of duty in a gamemode where you have to stay alive for a long time. There's a list of things that can go wrong. The video doesn't show the whole game, so I'm not going to pretend everything they showed is what it'll play like.
This is among my biggest concern. PUBG already had a relatively fast TTK but it's nowhere near as quick as how fast you can put someone down in CoD. CoD's gunplay is meant for really fast bursts of action and combat, not being the punctuation to what could be dozens of minutes roaming around by yourself. I still think it looks pretty fun, though.
from what i've played of the beta, the ttk is longer (much longer than blops 3 at least) and dare i say feels a lot better, you can also get armor plating upgrades which make you really tanky but those get countered by anti-armor weapon upgrades weapons aren't hitscan, although on deathmatch maps you don't feel that but it's obviously made to make blackout fun fairly certain it also has been said the ttk has been made even longer just for blackout mode specifically (as well as gun balance changes) beta for blackout starts september 15th on PC just so you're aware and want to see if you like it or not
We all laughed when Fortnite announced BR and now it is the most played game.
Looks legit like some dumbass good times. But I always get put off by the fact you get absolutely annihilated in CoD from like, somebody coughing on you so I'm cautious.
im pretty amazed. I Must give credit to the editor of the trailer. That was very well done
Wow. Hyped for a COD game for the first time in 8 years. Pretty insane.
So is it gonna introduce bullet drop + speed in cod now? I always differentiated COD and Battlefield as one without the other
I'm sorry, is COD giving us an actually unique if not down right entertaining version of a BR game? I'm impressed.
