It's nice that the feds can just halt our state government from doing research on possible environmental impact in the area and reopen the area to mining (which could be potentially disastrous for growing tourism industry) all willy nilly like without our say in the matter.
It is the second time the Trump administration has reversed a decision made under President Barack Obama to consider exceptional protections for the BWCA and the ecologically sensitive region from the
potential impacts of industrial mining.
Only the second time, would have expected more
how does the federal government have that right? don't states have the ultimate say over what happens in their territory
Federally owned forests. It's a tough situation with states rights, you have good states resisting a shitty fed, or shitty states resisting a good fed.
ya but in only one of those scenarios do you have corporations using the fed to undermine the state.
