Mac Miller Dead at 26 of Apparent Drug Overdose | TMZ.com Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... Mac was found Friday at around noon at his San Fernando Valley home and was pronounced dead at the scene.  Miller has had trouble recently with substance abuse ... in the wake of his breakup with Ariana Grande. The rapper wrecked his G-Wagon by wrapping it around a utility pole back in May and was arrested for DUI and hit and run. He fled the scene but cops say he later confessed at his home. He blew 2 times the legal limit. He was supposed to start a new tour next month, but unfortunately could not overcome addiction. He was all the rage when I was in high school, you quite literally couldn't go a day without overhearing people talking about going to one of his shows or talking about his music.
God damn thats crazy, so young and talented. What a shame.
My brother wne to high school with Mac, he's not going to like these news
This really hurt to see https://twitter.com/CraigSJ/status/1038162137477201922
This is so sad. He was so young. Going through a heart break while you are dealing with addiction must be the one of the lowest points you can get emotionally.
I met this guy a couple years ago through the most awkward way possible. I was working at the Pittsburgh airport in a electronics store that mainly sold headphones. We see this guy walking around with a different girl running up to him like every couple minutes. He goes into the jewelry store across from us and sure enough, a girl runs over and takes a selfie with him. He finally works his way over to us and goes right for the earbud side of the store. My boss talks to him, asking him what he was looking for in a headphone but he just wants a pair of the Beats Tours. We're ringing him up and another random girl comes over, asks for a selfie, a autograph, and a hug. Here's the fun part: My boss looks at him and goes, "I'm terribly sorry but who the hell are you?" He looks at him and just says, "Oh I'm a rapper from Pittsburgh" We look at each other and both say we don't listen to rap so we're sorry we don't recognize him. He responds with "Oh thank god. I'm Mac Miller. For once I'll say 'thank you for not listening to my music'. I can't even get to my gate without being annoyed". To sum up what we said, "Oh, nice to meet you. Glad we weren't bothering you". We did talk for a couple more minutes while he ducked in our store for cover. He left and we looked up his picture and sure enough, it was him. Employees from other stores recognized him too so I guess it was just us. He was super nice to us, much nicer and not high like Wiz Khalifa. I still haven't listened to any of his music but it's a bummer to lose a local artist.
Gotta be honest I have no idea who this is, but that's probably just do to my ignorance of the music scene he comes from, so that part doesn't matter. It's just sad to see all these overdose deaths. It was a common thing in celebrity culture for a long time and then there was a sort of glimmer of hope in the early 2000's where this whole get clean movement around popular young stars was a big deal. But with the opiod crisis and heroin epidemic it seems to be everywhere again from the struggling guy on the street no one knows about to the successful young celebrity trapped in their own mind. It just sucks to see. This guy was the same age as me.
Bro this fucking hurts, I was bumping kids when it first dropped. I've been a fan of his for a while. This whole drug problem is really getting out of control. We're losing so many people to this bullshit.
Unfortunate to see him pass but his music was foreshadowing the inevitable.
Been a long time fan, its weird how when you really are into an artist's music you feel like you kind of know them, when in reality you hardly know them at all. This is affecting me more than I expected, really tragic and so young too. If you like rap and wrote him off awhile ago I suggest giving some of his more recent albums a listen, he had a pretty unique style and was really coming into his own.

This is terrible. Always said to hear that someone so young and talented died from drugs and depression. Remember to talk to people if you have problems, trust me when I say there are folks out there that do love you, and they are more than willing to help.

Jesus fuck, this is the most shook i've been at a celebrity death in a long time. I hope Ariana doesn't get battered too badly with idiots blaming her for his death.
fucking tune. RIP.

You should listen to that video above your post. He became a lot more soul-y recently, I loved it
RIP https://youtu.be/l4WgPhNbSTE Really sad, always had very chill music. Never knew he had a big substance abuse problem.
She had to disable comments on her IG because swarms of people were comment-blasting her, blaming her for his death.
Hope Grande doesn't blame herself, she's super nice and felt devastated over the Manchester bombing thinking she was partly responsible, It sounds like he had some serious issues. Really awful stuff all around, 26 is terribly young.
I'm seeing a lot of people blaming Ariana Grande for this and this makes me even sadder. Too late. She already locked comments on her Instagram because people were telling her to kill herself over this.
The only song I really know from him is Knock Knock, but it is such an upbeat song from his beginning years that it doesn't really compare. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bMmhKz6KXg Something closer to nice old-school hiphop beats and something it is some really nice sounds I am going to miss, especially next to the current mumblerappers. He sounds so humble and nice, sad to see it go.
really sad. no idea he had such a bad drug problem. i haven't listened to much of his music but i absolutely love this tune of his i found a bit back https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LR3GQfryp9M .
Mac died on the same day Tupac was shot, no correlation just wanted to point it out.
I was listening to his new album as I got the news....

That's kinda sick when she was only just recently performing at an event where many people died in a bomb attack.
I don't know man, maybe it's better he isn't able to do shit like that anymore. He could've killed someone else by being a reckless idiot. It's hard for me to give any empathy when my cousin was left dying on a street by someone who did the exact same thing.
It's a damn shame for sure, but don't let your bias blind you. People are sure as hell flawed, and luckily nobody was hurt. He fessed up and was going through the process of being punished for it. Doesn't excuse him, but condemning someone like that permanently for a mistake they made isn't alright man. I've lost family due to the same thing, but I realize that there's a reason why people make those mistakes. You gotta make people realize why the mistake they made was wrong and hope they don't make it again. It's better to help rebuild than keep it destroyed.
