Honestly I think the abridged series is better than the original.
The future of the series will be announced after part 3 next week for those who are wondering.
Their is a chance they will not do the Buu saga.
Would they even do the last arc after that? I've never watched DBZ as a series but afaik all that's left is Majin Buu and some tournament arc no one likes that's commonly combined with the Buu arc anyway. Wouldn't they just end the series at 60 at that point?
It's still an iconic part of the Dragon Ball Z story. I personally hope they do Buu saga, but at a pace that's comfortable to them. TeamFourStar isn't just about DBZ anymore, so they have to shift focus on other things - thus meaning that DBZ stuff would come at a slower rate, which I wouldn't mind.
I wouldn't mind seeing DBGT abridged
Fun fact, the splash zone is a fun lil' reference to Sword Art Online Abridged, a series that also features some TFS voice acting, episode four.
Dragon Ball abridged has one of those things were parody characterizationn kinda leaks over to the western fanbase interpretation of these characters. Yu-gi-oh abridged, the only other abridged series I watched due to having a consistent quality, do not really have that in the same way.
Then again regular Yu-gi-oh is already more or less its own parody.
Yugioh TAS was a lot more reliant on meme references, and its aged pretty poorly because of it.
DBZ got away from that pretty early on and I think maintained more relevance because of it.
Fuck that Monty Python Reference.
Yugioh TAS used memes.
DBZ TAS created them.
Well DBZ still uses memes, just very rarely, or subtly.
