Positioned just beyond Trump's right shoulder — and thus almost constantly visible throughout the televised event — was Tyler Linfesty, a 17-year-old senior from Billings West High School in Montana. He wore a dark plaid button-up shirt, a hand-me-down from his brother. And where others zigged, Tyler zagged.
"We have the best economy in history!" Trump declared at one point in his speech, repeating a claim that has been fact-checked as false.
Tyler made a quizzical expression, then turned to look at his friend.
"The stock market is at record highs," Trump continued. "Unemployment is at record lows."
Tyler raised his eyebrows and chewed his lip.
"... And more Americans are working today than ever, ever, ever before!" Trump stated.
Tyler glanced upward and appeared to mouth: "Is that true?"
His facial expressions soon caught the attention of his friends, who had been watching the rally on TV and texted Tyler to say he was, um, extremely visible. It was around that point that Tyler took a "Democratic Socialists of America" sticker from his pocket and affixed it to his shirt, he said.
...
The teen said some Secret Service members and local police escorted him to an area at the edge of the auditorium, where they asked for his ID and held him for about 10 minutes. They then "in a nice way asked me to leave and not return," Tyler said.

then he and a couple people next to him got replaced by trump staffers haha
The hero we deserve.
Dissenting against The Party is grounds for indefinite detainment and reeducation at the Ministry of Love.

why is this something the fucking Secret Service are doing? is not clapping the sign of a potential assassin now?

OK considering this, don't you think this headline is a LITTLE bit sensationalist?
Is that justification for being detained not just by police, but by the Secret Service? They're meant to protect the president from threats, not a dissenting 17-year-old.
Amazing to watch.
Pretty sure the sticker would fall under freedom of speech.
Detaining him is going against that, but at the same time I guess it is up to whoever owns the auditorium.
Hey nowhere did I say I agreed with what happened to him, but the title is still sensationalist.
He stands out so much in that picture, and I'm not quite sure why.
"Attention citizen! It appears your Clapping For Great Leader quota is down 14%! Do you not love Great Leader? Do you not worship them as your rightful god and master? You will be assigned to a Patriotism Enforcement Camp until your love for Great Leader returns to acceptable levels."
I hope this becomes a thing at his rallies and maybe just political rallies in general, it's hilarious.
Functioning brain cells sind verboten!
His grey clashes heavily with thr bright reds and blues.
i can't help but be reminded of jim halpert in a good way
Not it's not, this was a political rally. Is Trump not a representative of the government? Isn't it government employees that detained him? I thought the first amendment forbade the goverment from limiting any citizen's freedom of speech. This is exactly what they did.
Not really a surprise, Trump has been known to throw out any dissenters in the past.
Extremists from both sides can't really handle opposing viewpoints.
I remember in 2004 Bush actually engaged with a dissenter at a rally rather than just throwing them out, this is how government is suppose to work.
welcome to the world of news
‘I had to be real’: #PlaidShirtGuy removed from Trump rally after viral facial expressions
The headline is explicitly accurate and isn't sensationalist at all.
Not at all, but if some dood unfurled a ROMNEY 2012 banner at a Obama ralley they'd probably detain him and ask him to leave too.
Secret Service has been throwing out 'disruptive' audience members since presidents started appearing on television. I really doubt any judge is going to consider it a violation of the 1st given long-standing precedent.
He wasn't punished with a crime, he was removed from private property. You'd be right if he was removed from a publicly owned space, but if the property owner allowed the secret service/police/organizers to act on their behalf then they can kick out who they want with impunity.
Not that I particularly agree with that law in relation to politicians, but that's how it do.
Completely accurate comparison, not blowing what the guy did out of proportion at all.
Because you are informed of him. Not much else. If this had been just a normal Trump speech and he'd stood there not making faces or affixing that sticker to his shirt, you wouldn't give him a second look.
I mean

He stands out regardless

This guy would be proud.
No, point being that political speeches are very political, believe it or not. Thats not exclusive to Trump, the Republicans, or anybody else (cept maybe Burnie). Politicians only ever want enthusiastic and excited (looking) people in the background of their televised speeches.
oh hey man if you can find any similar action done in recent history by a democrat president (removing a non-disruptive spectator) I'm all fucking ears
The man in this photo was drafted into the military to serve in a penal unit where he died because of this photo. He wasnt a fan of the Nazi Party because they sent his lover to die in a concentration camp. So no, this guy making funny faces probably wouldn't make him proud.
