guess who's gearing up to be number 46?
“I would be more than willing to continue to provide any and all support in that. And we have outside counsel that will advise me accordingly.”
Already smarter than Trump
Too bad after this November he's likely to be a lame-duck president.
pence seems quite concerned that Trump thinks he or his staff authored the NYT piece
This is the first thing I've heard about Pence in actual months and that worries the shit outta me
Seems like someone's getting prettied up to look like a better alternative to Tinyhands to be foisted on the public as a big distraction while the Republican party desperately hopes that'll make everyone forget that they're the ones wholly responsible for TInyhands in the first place
Just gonna link my last post
Friendly reminder that Mike Pence is every ounce the GOP stooge and his legacy in Indiana reflects that
There's not much the Tinyhands administration has done that a Pence administration wouldn't do, except faster, more effectively, and much quieter
Personally, I would rather have Pence than Trump for the sheer sake of ending the risk of Trump randomly declaring war on nations through twitter.
Yeah Michael Pence is a piece of shit, but call me optimistic, I feel like he'd be head and shoulders better than Trump.
Same insidious mindset, but I feel like he'd be easier on the public. I doubt he would be tweeting about Obama's birth certificate at 3 AM and screaming into the mic. Still really scary, but infinitely better than a raging madman with his cult behind him.
I'm open to whatever anyone has to say, though.
Pence is absolute garbage, but he's not a walking diplomatic disaster like Trump. On the upside, the US' relations with it's allies would improve. On the downside, he has potential to be a lot more effective at passing shitty shit.
Highly depends on the midterm elections in November, really.
Every GOP presidential candidate will be authoritarian from now on, whether Pence takes over or not. Trump has permanently changed the party, like Reagan did
At best, he'll be just as ineffective with the whole system working against him as Trump has been with the entire system working for him.
I kind of worry that anything he says could be overruled on the grounds that it represents a massive conflict of interest since Trump facing justice very likely means Pence becoming president.
It's a question if the trump die hards would follow pence. A big reason I think the GOP is sticking with trump is that they have every incentive to hold onto him because the GOP base fucking loves trump.
Pence betraying Trump is the smartest move he can make, I would lmao
Wouldn't it be funny if this investigation was all a sham. Trump got elected so they could all be part of an investigation and as long as they testify they get can get immunity to the shit they've been doing. Then once they're all done they get rid of trump and now no one can touch them. :conspiratard:
The problem I see is, if Pence becomes president, would he be able to take a different diplomatic stance or would the R base demand he continue doing what Trump is doing with tariffs and what not. Would any of the other leaders be more willing to work with him or still say "fuck you guys".
How great would it be if Trump caught on that Pence is trying to replace him?
Can a President fire his Vice President?
I'm pretty sure Pence would be the end of most Trump's insane policies.
There's a lot of GOP that have been just "going along" with Trump because he's their party but I'm sure most of them would turncoat the moment they can.
The president can't, only Congress can impeach a VP. Fun fact, Nixon's VP Spiro Agnew resigned mid term, Nixon appointed Gerald Ford as his replacement, then Nixon resigned and Ford became president, he
will probably be the only president to never have anyone vote for him even as VP.
The GOP would implode if Pence betrayed Trump. Imagine the alt-right leaving and forming a new party. I doubt he will cooperate more than what is required for him to avoid obstruction and collusion.
ya the VP is the only executive position that cannot be fired by the president, and he doesn't really even have to work for the president either.
Would love the alt-right to form a separate party. That would probably be the best thing for the GOP and the rest of the country.
Really? Is there a presidential election this November I wasn't aware about? I wish.
I'm talking about the congressional midterm elections?
What will Pence do with a Democratic controlled Congress, especially after the hostility against Trump?
A lame duck is a politician whose successor has already been elected, e.g. Obama after Nov. 8, 2016
I was under the impression it was for any that had the other parts of government controlled by the opposing party, huh.
My understanding is, it's any president that is largely ineffective and doesn't accomplish anything.
He's coming out of the background, he's making his move.
Not sure about that, an alt-right only party would be a very small party to the point the two-party system in the US would just make it irrelevant.
Wikipedia, Merriam-Webster, dictionary.com, and my AP US Gov class back in high school agree with my usage, though I've seen it misused your way before. Facepunch seems to agree with you based on votes, but I've also had to explain to the masses how "let alone" should be used grammatically, so...
usage is clearly changing
There's a fine line between the meaning of a term changing and a bunch of people using a term wrong.
