Hey I've just recently got back into TF2 as of late, used to play it heaps back in the day. The main reason I've been drawn to it recently is because of the competitive mode that is in it now, but when ever I try to Q for it, it takes hours.
What I've grown used to is Qing in both comp and Casual getting a casual game almost instantly but never ever getting a comp game no matter how long I wait.
Is it really that dead in Aus?
This could have been asked in the general chat 🤔
But no. Valve competitive is underpopulated because all the people are playing real third party competitive instead.
Let me put it like this. Valve comp is a 12 man pub with no class limits, weapon bans and an extremely limited map pool. There are also not many rewards beyond the scoreboard pin.
Contrast that to say, Ozfortress, Quixalite, RSP, and many other community leagues which feature team pages, match comms, custom white lists and rule sets to avoid unbalanced cheese, as well as cash prizes, variously shiny in-game medals you can wear on your character, and different skill divisions.
The choice is pretty clear as to which people put time into.
Garry would of wanted me to do a thread sorry.
Oh crap so is there a better alternative to it? like is there a Aus friendly online service for it kind of like Faceit for CS:GO?
Check UGC. They still do Highlander and 6's competitive in Australia. It's been a while since I was in it or casted so I dunno HOW big it is now.
