• Few things I'd like to see happen in Rust

More base building options & features. Searchlights being linked with Camera's for motion detection. So if someone is spotted, the search light tracks them. Move away from forced server wipes & blueprint wipes & instead, have blueprints that only give you x number of builds from them. Crack down on so called Official servers, where VIP members get admin access to award themselves everything. Add more technology to the game. Make building things require more realistic items to make. Example, a Torch only needs metal fragments. I mean really? More building materials like Sand, Clay, Copper, Lead & so forth to mine & collect. Wood from tree's, why does small tree's give the same if not more wood than big chunky tree's? Surely its not right. Offline raiding. Its a disease to the game. People don't raid people when they're online anymore. They wait until they're offline & then do it. Where's the challenge in raiding a defenceless base? booby traps that only trigger when someone steps on them who shouldn't be there & owner friendly. What I'd love to know. Is why did Facepunch hoped for player created safezones with turrets. But went ahead & created the bandit camp themselves when it didn't happen? Things take time to build & why would anyone hope for player created safezones when facepunch themselves promote this game as a weekly wipe? Now, I'm no way inexperienced with this game. Its just another FPS really but with some mechanics & so forth. But I really do love how some people base build at spawn points or overlooking key places & no matter what time of day it is. Even if your moving quietly through thick woods. You get 1 shot killed always in the head by rooftop campers. Almost like they can see you as if you we're wearing xmas lights in a field at night. Now, I am loving this game. But I host my own server with around 80+ of friends & family who all play together nicely with Oxide mod for clans. They are 4 clans altogether with balanced numbers in each & we go nuts killing each other. But one thing we all want. Is the ability to create & build without having it wiped because of an update. Surely updates can happen & any changes gets layered onto existing maps or if anythings removed, just remove them. When I bought this game, I never knew it was a forced wipe, mostly weekly. I wanted a game to build & have fun.
" Example, a Torch only needs metal fragments", "I'm no way inexperienced with this game" http://prntscr.com/kt8o8e Yes Would take a long time to revert this game from unrealistic to realistic
Firstly, Realistic items in the sense of being able to build gates, fences & so forth. Not what you were clearly incorrectly thinking about. Finally. I'm English & we name things correctly. A flashlight is what we call a torch & seeing as it was first invented in the UK & called a torch. Just because American's are problems with basic English & decided to rename things. Doesn't make them correct. But I realise you we're trying to be clever. But actually, you just made yourself look retarded. Considering you knew perfectly well what I mean & saw fit to try & mock me non the less. Another thing about the Flashlight. It doesn't flash. Its on or off. so why call it such!
Would be amazing to see different type of fences, like barbed wire fence for example. Please don't compare Rust items like torch to real life inventions, this is a game and especially this game has nothing to do with real life. If Garry Newman from England has decided to name this stick that magically lights on fire, as a torch then he has named it as a torch in this game.
3- Wipes are used so you can update the game, or else you'll have corrupt worlds. 4- Wait what? Isn't that essentially P2W? Probably missed something, elaborate more please. 5- A game about surviving with the remnants of civilization doesn't need lots of tech. The military tier gear is enough, and people are already saying it's too much. 6- In game development we call that making it unnecessarily hard, no game value on it, just a useless representation of reality, and when a game's core is PvP you might as well just delete the item, especially a flashlight/torch, in fact even if the devs didn't delete it, the players would, by simply not using it (Too many components for an item that's usually a throw away one). 7- You want more resources to farm, this implies more resource nodes, more storage space. It would make Rust, a game that already heavily relies on farming, a farming simulator, instead of a surviving experience against other players, well, as long as those resources were actually needed for progression. 8- No they don't, there's disparities from some types of trees. Let's not forget this isn't a reality representation, but a game, whose main focus is killing other people (There, I said it). 9- Agreed, and FP stated they're looking at the situation. Then again I don't think much will change. 10- Shotgun traps, Turrets and flamethrower turrets. Might not be exactly what you're looking for but they work, plus FP is also thinking about this. "When I bought this game, I never knew it was a forced wipe, mostly weekly." Indeed, most people buy Rust for that. FP should really add that in the store page, but let me tell you I prefer it with wipes. Fresh starts are always a good thing, especially when you get raided early game OR when you're just dominating a server, which is now dead because no one wants to try again (This happens often in modded servers, where I play the most). This is simply my opinion about your statements.
