He's actually a great actor but I never liked him as Superman. I think Ben Affleck is a good Batman, but I think this is the best decision all around.
Holy SHIT WHAT I wanted DC to recover but it feels like a reboot is inevitable at this point. What a clusterfuck.
I wouldn't oppose a full reboot, provided they wait a few years then develop an actual plan for how they intend to build the universe.
DC is fuuuuuucked now.
It's obvious he cares about his craft and is dissapointed with these films. I would be too if they CGI'd me a face that resembled the Crimson Chin just because they needed even more unscheduled reshoots on an unsavable dumpster fire of a film.
Yeah DC just admit your cinematic universe is a flop and go back to the drawing board.
What do you think the odds are he'll play Captain Britain for Marvel?
Honestly, I'm surprised they last as long as they have. How many bad movies in a row do you have to make before you think maybe you should try something else?
get Ryan Gosling on the phone
literally. Their animated films are consistently good(except for the killing joke). I am afraid that if they get too successful, the producers and people involved with the live action trash will get involved and fuck them up
Well, this surely won't end up as a disaster.
Maybe just leave the film industry cash cow alone and let it burn out itself. Look for smaller niches or 100% original films instead of wasting a shitload of cash on adapted screenplays.
Get Dave Bautista on the phone. He’s not busy.
I think they should get Idris Elba to play soups

Cavil, from what I've anecdotally seen, is a good actor and would be a good Superman had he been given better direction/writing/etc. However, as is, he's been given crap material to work with so I think it's good for him to bail out. The problem isn't him but rather DC/WB. I get the impression that if he had been in a Superman movie that was actually more upbeat instead of the grim-dark Snyder material (followed by the awkward attempt at rebounding into Marvel comedy), he would actually be a good fit for that kind of Superman.
I hope we still get Affleck Batman and Deathstroke films.
Seems unlikely to me, considering the studio rumors are Affleck wants to leave too after how dismal BvS and JL went.
get Ryan Gosling on the phone, he can play them both
Here's even more "good" news. https://deadline.com/2018/09/superman-henry-cavill-supergirl-warner-bros-1202463120/ "The word has been out that Warner Bros. has been mulling a completely different direction with its Superman canon for some time, even considering casting Michael B. Jordan in the role down the road. But at the present moment a Supergirl movie is the studio’s priority as Deadline exclusively broke back in August. Oren Uziel is working on the Supergirl script. According to DC mythology, the character was a teen when she escaped the doomed planet Krypton along with the infant who grew up as Clark Kent. And at this time, there are no other Superman films in development at DC that would include Cavill. The three DC pics he has starred which were directed by Zack Snyder —Man of Steel, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Justice League– have grossed close to $2.2 billion at the global box office." This just keeps getting worse and worse
I thought Cavill was a good superman choice, but his acting seems to have been bogged down by the really shitty movies they've been making. Actually, in MoS I already thought he was decent, he showed a pretty good range of emotions and felt like he could sort of grow into it down the road, but after that first movie all the others he seemed like he was reading lines like he was voicing someone's fanfic. Seriously half the lines in BvS and JL he says barely sound like a human delivering them
You joke but there is a rumor going around. https://comicbook.com/dc/2018/09/12/superman-michael-b-jordan-dc-movies/
It bothers me to see this happening to DC's characters but seeing a studio implode after producing garbage never gets old
I feel like he could've been a great Superman if the movies surrounding him were better.
I definitely think that would have helped, but I just didn't like the way he personally chose to act the part. Say what you like about Ben Affleck, but he did have this very weathered, encumbered performance that worked well for the character, whereas Henry Cavill was a little robotic for my tastes. As I said though, he's a good actor. He was great in that film 'The Man from Uncle."
A reboot is probably for the best. The whole DC cinematic universe is a disaster. Hopefully if they do they wont hire a hack fraud like Zack Snyder and put some actual fucking effort in.
not inevitable its happening.
Not full reboot, please. They need to keep Wonder Woman - and Aquaman and Shazam if they turn out good. Everything else can be tossed, though.
it sounds like they plan on soft rebooting by editing the movies like wonderwoman and aquaman as well as others in the works to fit
