I want to clarify something about Wolfschanze 2, or more precisely, its "prequel": Wolfschanze was the name of the German command bunker where Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg attempted to assassinate Hitler via suitcase bomb, which he survived and Stauffenberg got executed for treason. The Wolfschanze game has you playing as the man himself and be subjected to the worst German voice acting ever as you go about doing the assassination business. You show up late to a strategy meeting and Hitler just winges at you about how all the German officers suck until you place the suitcase bomb and walk right out while the meeting is still going on. Then you go back outside and the bomb explodes and since you have no weapons, you'll just get shot by the first guys coming to see what's going on unless you run full speed back into the house where you got the bomb and kick a guy to death until he drops his pistol and since stunlocking is not really a thing, you're probably at less than 30% health by the time you're armed. So no, gggmanlives is wrong, Wolfschanze 2 makes no sense as a name because it's not "wolf's lair" as much as it's literally a place. It's like making a game called Buckingham Palace where you shoot a bunch of terrorists in Buckingham Palace and then make a sequel called Buckingham Palace 2 where you shoot a bunch of terrorists in Ireland. Makes as much sense as how the Mortyr name has been treated as the town bike. I own Mortyr, the first one, it's a Quake-like game where you're a time travelling super soldier going back in time to kill Hitler and then you have to go back to the future to kill Future Hitler. Like what the fuck is with these IPs?
Also one thing about The Hell in Vietnam he didn't mention, Walter from The Big Lebowski is in that game. One of your teammates is a guy that looks exactly like him (only slightly younger) and his name is also Walter.
I had absolutely no idea there were licensed games using FEAR's jupiter engine. It's really weird looking at some of those because they look like a FEAR mod
I'm glad he mentioned how some of their games really have some oddly good visuals at times, really comes close to AAA-quality visuals at times. And their amazingly terrible voice acting is gold. A lot of their games are a guilty pleasure for me. Never really worth it to buy at full price, but they're like a nice cheap variety snack pack when bought on a bundle or a sale. Decent timewasters that can be finished in half a weekend, that doesn't really require much in time investment, and some genuine good moments here and there to come at a surprise at times. Especially if you just want to play something similar to a particular popular game but want something sorta new but don't mind it feeling a bit cheaper.
I don't think saying Alien Rage pushes Unreal Engine 3 is true, while it looks nice it still looks like an Unreal Engine 3 game, it has the horrible bloom effect around...effects, that looks meh, only looks somewhat nicer than other UE3 games really.
Is it me, or most Jupiter-engine games cutscenes feel very... off? Like, the dudes from the game where you play mercs and get betrayed, looks like they are trying to cosplay as Battletoads.
Also, is it just me or does that black guy's voice actor in that merc game sound like he's the same guy that does Pierce in Saints Row? It sounds like exactly the same voice.
