https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/reports-of-widespread-voter-suppression-in-new-york-state-democratic-primary/ar-BBNit5y?ocid=sf On the day New York State Democrats select their party’s standard-bearers for the upcoming midterm elections, voters are reporting numerous forms of procedural roadblocks, incorrect voting information and disenfranchisement that many suggest rise to the level of voter suppression. Stop fucking around you asshats
what the fuck, are we in a fucking franz kafka novel now?
If this is what a midterm looks like then 2020 is gonna be fuuuuun
We will vote for Pelosi/Schumer in 2020
For fucks sake. I had hoped with all the insanity of the last couple years my state would at least know now of all times is when we need to get our shit together. This is not my state with it's shit together.
Man it's just like 2016, corrupt fuckers.
Sounds like a good time to stock up on a bunch of emergency supplies, and prepare for Trump 2020 at this rate.
This is New York, haven of political corruption for over a century. It's a lot better than the days of political bosses at least New York and Illinois (and New Jersey?) are states that fuel the image of the corrupt Democrat
I had no problems voting in the primaries here in Illinois. Registration was permitted at the same time as voting, early voting started like a week before the official day, machines were electronic but produced a paper slip with your votes on it (which, from my layman's perspective, seems reasonably secure)... the candidate I voted for lost, but it was close-run, and at no point in the process did I feel like I was being actively obstructed. Illinois has plenty of problems, don't get me wrong, but active voter suppression isn't one that I've seen.
I thought Jersey had a Republican asshat for the longest time? Didn’t they like shut down a bridge or something for political reasons and get investigated for corruption?
That's why I had the question mark
Yes but Jersey is a blue state and Christie was very much a moderate republican Frankly, you can reasonably guess the party establishments and moderates here are made up by the careerist slimeball politicians you love to hate.
Illinois has always had the reputation as being place where the dead vote, hence the classic joke "I tried to convince my grandmother not to vote for Kennedy, but she's dead. Whether or not theres any validity to that, I dont know but I know a lot of people who voted in the 60s think JFK won because of a bunch of voter fraud coming from Chicago. I'm sure theres plenty of other political corruption there but thats the most prominent one to me.
Thats an off topic QUESTION. You're done. Youbhave been stopped.
New Jersey politicians in general are corrupt. It's a very bipartisan sport here. Many of them are actually New Yorkers who happen to have a house in NJ that allow them to run for office here. We're basically rich NYC banker political playground.
I get to watch from across the Delaware. Its funny.
I can't confirm or deny that. The Democrats in this state have a Tammany Hall sort of reputation for sure, but I couldn't tell you if that's one of their particular vices.
Like our newest Governor, who was a Goldman Sachs banker before he crossed the state borders to come bless us with his leadership! (Actually he was the US ambassador to Germany or something for a while but whatever.) We may as well be New New York or South New York.
Not surprising. This is the same state where in order to vote in the 2016 primary you had to be a registered Democrat six months before the day of the vote.
Don't forget that John Corzine was also a Goldman Sachs banker. It would be amusing if it were so sad that all these extremely wealthy NYC bankers come to New Jersey as "man of the people" Democrats and we just sweep them into office.
Compared to Krispy Kreme, I can at least tolerate them.
