I have a lot of old pictures from several computers over the years, and I want to have them all in one organized library on one machine. A lot of the pictures are duplicates, but have different filenames and dates created/modified. What's the best way to compare the data of these images, or any files really, to weed out the duplicates?
Also, what happened to the "quick questions that don't deserve a thread" thread? I can't find it, or I would have posted this there.
I use "Awesome duplicate photo finder"
makes it easy to review the differences between similar images

Visipics makes quick work of things, and does it all pretty quick.
Clonespy is also good. Uses hashes to find dupes.
Don’t download so much porn in the first place
Thank you both for your answers, but I wasn't clear enough with what I was looking for. I've done some searching, and what I want is apparently something that can compare the md5 of files and delete duplicates. I'm currently using a program called md5checker, but I have to scroll down the list to compare them manually, and it's a pain. If anyone knows a way to like, automate this, that would be great.
I mean these programs you've suggested are good for photos, and I'll probably use that next, but I'm currently looking for a method to compare all kinds of files.
Clonespy can do everything, not specific to photos.
Somehow I accidentally ignored your first post. This is exactly what I was looking for, thank you.
