https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-45559264 Belgium's traditional potato "frites" could soon be 3cm (1.1in) smaller than normal, growers have warned. Pierre Lebrun, head of the Walloon Potato Growers' Association, said lower levels of rainfall had cut potato crop yields by 25%. "Because the potatoes are smaller at the moment, we will all be eating smaller chips," he told the Sudpresse newspaper. "Frites" are a signature Belgian dish, often eaten with mayonnaise. RIP
oh god no, large-ass fries are the best
I prefer them small to be honest, so as far as I'm concerned, I'm glad about this development.
This tbh the big ones are all soft and bready, the small ones are extra greasy and salty and crunchy and only ones allowable tbh
*French fries
French fries are thin, Belgian ones are thick. That's the distinction.
When you get somewhere than can nail big french fries while them still being crunchy and well-cooked it's incredible Me and my father have been frequenting the same pizza place since I was a toddler just because they've been nailing the fries for as long as I can remember
I'm gonna EAT you you too
*pomfrit
You better, considering the impending French fries shortage.
