I suppose there's no need to describe this particular issue, I'm sure the majority of users have come across it already, but here goes anyway...
Since the switch to Newpunch, many users have been unable to delete quotes when typing a post. Selecting it, using the delete key, nothing works.
I don't know what the cause of the issue is, but after more than half a year I'd expect that at least a temporary fix would have been introduced. I don't know, just make a "clear" button that erases the entire post so that we can type without quoting an unrelated post.
It's getting pretty tiring to be pinged for irrelevant posts and doing the same to others. It's gotten to the point where there are a few thread that I wait until I'm on desktop to post in because I'd have to quote weeks-old quotes to do so.
Workaround:

Also work on @ tags
Wow. Thanks.
You should be able to press the code tag button again
Highlight the text before and make that a code block, that should cause the 2 to merge into one, backspace the extra line and then you should be able to remove the tag
Depends on the keyboard really tbh
Omigawd it worked! Thanks
