When one of the earlier 2000s hurricanes came through Florida, it put a hole in my bedroom roof about 3 feet wide. I told my mom to come check out the new pool I had installed. She didn't like that, or the sunroof joke I made when she actually saw it. Dark humor is the best coping mechanism.
