https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T73h5bmD8Dc I did not expect the dark web to be in this film.
Yeah... I really have no words for it.
Wack it, Ralph is the version with a character addicted to CP.
I can't believe we just got rickrolled. Also, dark web?
didnt this movie come out like 2 years ago
lmao is that the mom from incredibles on that popup ad
"Sassy housewives want to meet you" https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/129/247d862e-103b-4d4a-bb0b-0cd8fd629801/1537448107746[1].jpg I knew it!
The Floss was a dance move before Fortnite, holy shit....
I mean. I knew the memes would be outdated. But god the memes they are using in this movie were outdated before the first movie even started preproduction.
Awaiting a billion "Wreck it Ralph 2 but everytime it is cringe X happens" style videos.
To be honest, that's one housewife I'd like to get sassy with.
Anyone feel that they should've went with the "Death of Arcades" plot?
Shadman's gonna have field day with this https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107118/10cad4ae-2b48-4f10-bea5-ae98db9be565/image.png
I dunno If see a 4chan logo somewhere in there I'd be impressed. They went this far? Might as well go all the way.
oooo, don't like that.
I think people are over-reacting (though the amount of flagrant advertisement is annoying) and that this trailer was actually good for defining a reasonable plot. (Having to replace a part in the arcade so rare they have to go to the internet to buy it.)
Why do something video game related when you could go on Disney's commercialised masturbatory adventure?
Outdated memes and suddenly you guys go sour? I thought the UK were the sour notes . "Emoji Movie 2?" Where's Sony Pictures shilling a ton of apps in place of characters? I mean it's Disney; part of the charm is remembering the old and getting down with the new wave of internet culture as well as long term nostalgia ie the Disney Princesses. If nothing else it's going to be a fun ride. I think it's ballsy. Given the infamy I'd wager Disney is trying to dabble into the bleak moments like in the Disney Renaissance days.
I just don't get why we're still doing "physical manifestations of the internet" as settings when the internet is no longer this new mysterious place and the trope has been done to death a million times. I thought Disney was better than this.
yes. This looks awful.
yeah idk about you guys thinking the dark web is too adult for this, one of the earlier trailers had a scene where the joke is a child having to watch a bunny explode and you guys were all over that shit
Putting memes in a movie, if necessary, is sorta guaranteed to not appeal to the spiciest, most up to date shitposters. The movie can't have placeholder meme jokes in the script and suddenly fill them in before they storyboard and animate shit. It's a dicey place to be, because at once people expect it to be bleeding edge... which with the Internet's pace is IMPOSSIBLE... but it also needs to be RECOGNIZABLE by the general public, and if possible stand the test of time so the meme is at least nostalgic. That doesn't give them a whole lot of fucking room to work with. Either be extremely dated in both manners, or go for something flash in the pan that will be utterly forgotten and confusing to future viewers.
Those fudgeknuckle kids are literally the target audience for this children's film, you dolt
Honestly I'd prefer ancient memes be used than anything from the years after social media took off with MySpace. A simpler time with a smaller base, far less mass appeal, and they aren't constantly getting hotswapped for the next one a week later.
Okay but what's been Disney's obsession with playing club hits from 2009-2015 in these incredibly illfitting movies trailers
I mean Disney went darker before Bambi's mom Snow White dying (confirmed to not be sleeping like in Sleeping Beauty) Oliver having a loan shark as the villain The entirety of The Hunchback of Notre Dame Of coarse they won't show what the dark web really shows, but it gets brownie points for being on a thin line on darker themes like in some of their older films.
I'll wait for the reviews before I judge. It might actually be decent sans the outdated meme references.
Oh please, its not like 90% of the audience is going to know what the dark web is or contains. Until they look it up
