I really miss pre big-bang Maplestory, before they fucked everything up. The game was really chill.

I also really wish Loadout didn't die as fast as it did. That game was so fun, being able to make your own stupid rocket launcher that shoots 30 mini rockets that spiral around
eachother was fun as fuck.

What games do you miss?
The golden age of Unreal Tournament games and modding, around early to mid-late 2000s.
It was around that time when UT2004 and other similar games dominated with their huge list of maps and mods.
Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory was really fucking neat. The only thing that minorly scratches the same itch is Dirty Bomb, but it's just not the same without all the crazy mods.

Feel like pure shit just want her back x
The Saboteur.
I like the setting and the game so much, but there's 0 talks about a sequel or a remaster. Although knowing current EA I would rather it'll be that way for some time.
I know I'm in the minority for this, but I absolutely loved Battlefield Heroes.

It was just an all-around charming game with great movement, a unique feel, a fun art style, and deep gameplay versatility that just kinda always felt fresh to me.
Even after the pay-to-win model cropped up and the community went to shite, I still found myself returning to it and having a great time. Plus I could play it on just about any PC.

Especially the multiplayer of this.
You could even fucking walk around or drive other vehicles into these VTOLs
Ye olden days of sourcemods. I spent so much of my younger years playing ZM back when it was consistently populated
I still occasionally miss Hellgate London from when Flagship Studios was still a company.

I miss Aliens Online, Godzilla Online and Legends of Kesmai an Magestorm.
Man Those were good to their core.

How about it's predecessor Monday night Combat?
Also, pre-Zandronum times of Doom multiplayer, that was blooming with community, and when "All Out War" Doom WAD servers were still a thing.
Paladins filled that gap rather well (the gameplay, not the blood sport)
Super Mario Sunshine. Just everything about it was perfect, but no other Mario game since has matched the same feeling of playing Sunshine—not even Odyssey.
I don’t know what it is exactly, but just between the beautiful music, vibrant and varied levels, and fantastic gameplay, nothing has since impressed me as much as Sunshine.
I thought Sunshine was alright, but it had some major flaws. Checkpoints were very rare, and there's a handful of infuriating levels.
Anything by Psygnosis
I miss Unreal Tournament and Ape Escape. It was pretty upsetting to see that the devs that were working on UT4 abandoned the project to work on Fortnite. The Ape Escape franchise seems completely forgotten by Sony.
Knight Online. One of the first MMOs I ever played as a kid, opening a new world to me. Sad it's dead now.
Wildstar.
The servers aren't shut down quite yet, but the game's been more or less dead for a while.
Loved it to pieces, but it just never got its footing.
drift city
it may not have been the greatest game ever (far from it, really), and being a free-to-play game it was naturally filled with overpriced microtransactions, but it was still the first real online multiplayer game i ever played and i'll still always love it.
i played it all goddamn day back when it was on ijji and i was like 8, played it a bit more some time after it moved to gamescampus. some years go by and one day i think, "hey, i wonder if drift city's still active," so i go to the website and find out it was closed literally the day before - march 21, 2016. it's been over 2 years since then and i still occasionally go back to the site, still just a closure announcement, just to get filled with a feeling of overwhelming nostalgia and sadness.
probably being a bit melodramatic in here but i'm not even joking when i say that some songs from the soundtrack legitimately make me tear up a little

(i posted basically this exact text in another similar thread from months ago but it applies the exact same here so i might as well just do it again)
The community servers of team fortress 2. In particular I was a regular of labcoat gamers. I still haven't found as great of a multiplayer game nor game community. To think it's been little more than half a decade since.
modern warfare 2's multiplayer at its peak, last map pack released, instant game queues.
Man I miss CNC Renegades multiplayer
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6G93Tv7W6k
That was a bomb ass game back in the day. I know Renegade X is a thing, and they do stay very faithful to the gameplay, but its not quite like the good ol' days.
nosgoth
i liked asymmetrical multiplayer a lot and i kinda get into legacy of kain and i felt it served as a great primer
evolve
when first saw the announcement and read the details about it, i was drawn in, and 2k had to be retarded and mishandled it.
exteel
i'm just a sucker for giant robots
i might have more later
Halo Reach. I loved the fuck out of that game, and it's honestly my fondest memory with Bungie. I sunk so many hours into that game and had so many good moments. The art style will always be one of my favorites, and it will forever be a favorite in my heart.
