Recommended DLC:
Italia - Map DLC which adds the rest of Italy from Genova to Catania. Well crafted cities and has a few out of the way depots which add a challenge to deliveries such as marble quarries.
Vive la France ! - Map DLC which adds western France, expanding the country all the way to Toutouse. Mostly well made cities and has some interesting depots such as nuclear power plants.
Scandinavia - Map DLC which adds Denmark, southern Norway up to Bergen and southern Sweeden up to Uppsala. Slightly aged now, first map DLC to use some of the modern mapping design features found in Italia and Viva la France!. Has some beautiful scenic routes but beside a few (Stockholm), cities are fairly lackluster.
Going East! - Map DLC which adds several eastern European cities and countries. Very aged with most cities and highways not being much better then the base map at all, it is only recommended so the use of mods such as Promods and RusMap is possible.
Special Transport - Cargo DLC which adds escorted special transport jobs. These jobs feature huge cargo loads which have to be delivered along a preset route by following a escorting vehicle. Fairly challenging and a huge contrast to the normal loads carried in the game.
Heavy Cargo Pack - Cargo DLC which adds heavy cargos, while not has large as the ones from Special Transport these loads can be carried during normal jobs and don't require a escort.
Recommended Mods:
NOTE: With the base map being gradually rebuilt the use of mods isn't really needed, try the base game for a while first!
ProMods - The largest and most active map mod, ProMods rebuilds most of the base Euro Truck Simulator 2 map (plus DLCs) as well as creating serveral areas which currently aren't in the base map. Requires all current map DLCs to function, additionally you must register a account on their forums to download.
Tregion - A upcoming map mod which attempts to recreate Belgium, The Netherlands and North-west Germany in 1:2 scale. Currently unreleased with version 0.1 covering the A12 coming out soon.

New Mexico - Map DLC which adds the state of New Mexico. Surpirssing interesting DLC with quality rivaling and sometimes surpassing that of the Italia DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2. Features 14 cities and 11 custom made rest stops all of very high quality.
Heavy Cargo Pack - Cargo DLC which adds heavy cargo. This is currently the only cargo DLC for American Truck Simulator and adds loads to similar to that of the Euro Truck Simulator 2 version of this DLC.

Please feel free to send suggestions, especially mod recommendations as I mostly play the vanilla games. Additionally I work with the Tregion team and I've tried to make its inclusion as neutral as possible, let me know if it is out of place.
I use stupidly powerful engine mods and gearboxes to match.
And i've never had as much fun as i have now, hauling ass with 20-50 tons of cargo behind me, going ~170 km/h, dodging traffic and going for the apex on motorways, and simultaneously trying not to flip everything doing so.

(in case of trucks, we got a signed license for the truck showed - which doesn't necessarily mean we got other stuff from that brand).

Oregon is coming out this october, can't wait to get out of the desert regions of ATS for once. Additionally it looks like nuclear power plants are coming back for the Baltics DLC in both Finland and Russia with these two new depot variations.

Event: Trade Connections - Germany
Reworking Germany is no easy task! It's the core region of the ETS2 game world through which many deliveries are taking place, and we want to make sure that the results are solid. Now, at least in a sort of virtual way, you can help us, too!
On a sidenote getting the deliveries for this event is making me wish they finish this rework even faster, most of the base game and going east is absolutely terrible to drive through and look at.

Experimental Beta
There's a number of people who repeatedly asked for some form of early access to the new "base game" content - simply put to let them in the open beta before the open beta. So we decided to give it a try. "Experimental Beta" means that the content and functions are not yet in the OB status. That's also the reason we're letting you know here, on our forum - where's generally our most enthusiastic community - and not anywhere else. You might tell whoever you want, there's absolutely no need to keep it secret - but it needs to be emphasized, that risk of bugs is much higher than in usual OB. This is for hardcore fans, modders, etc. - probably not good for a casual player.
A new "experimental beta" is out for ETS2, I recommend you read through the forum post if you want to check it out.
