I love watching videos of these things and similar mini-food stuff, they're really relaxing and when done right they really do like nice and cute.
One thing I never knew though is that they actually try to imitate the taste of the actual food thing, I used to assume they're all just generically flavored as candy.
RRCherryPie on Youtube did and still does a lot of these mini-kit things. He puts captions explaining the flavors and translates some of the text to english. Most of them are some form of fruit flavor like strawberry or generic fruit candy flavor.
I remember watching that channel years ago, happy to know it's still active!
I remember there were some translated captions overlaid on their earlier videos with mostly Japanese text, and I remember some simple English captioned sentences like 'add mentos on soda for better effect' and stuff like that. Though it's been a while so I most likely may have missed it too if they used YouTube's captions for the translations. I remember some stuff that weren't even edible too like an eraser set themed from food.
Time to watch them again now, I really find their videos and similar channels to be very therapeutic.
