Was looking to buy a game on the cheap from a key site. Never used any before - was wondering is G2A was a decent site. Thanks!
It's sketch af and has gotten progressively more-so over the last few years. I'd avoid it.
If you want to be sure your keys come from a legit source try Greenmangaming or GamersGate (no relation to gamergate). If you dont mind where they come from, Id still avoid G2A and use somthing like CDKeys or HRKgames, as ive personally never had any issues with either of those two.
G2A is somehow the most popular CD-key website and the most corrupt CD-key website out there. I have no idea how it can be both of those things at the same time.
They make you pay for buyer's protection that's already a legal right. Steer way fucking clear of that dump.
Go to isthereanydeal.com and search for the game you want.
Then pick from the list of retailers listed.
All retailers from that site is Legit
They are a market place. G2A them self sell little on their website.
This makes for a "competitive" pricing among the sellers, thus attracting people who want cheap games.
That is also where the bad part comes in play, those random sellers often get their keys from scams or fraud, they just care to make a quick buck and even if they get banned from there they just make a new account.
G2A does next to nothing to fight those people, they just make money from it by selling extra protection.
Yeah, This has been a very good site for me over the years.
Because they try to list only authorised resellers, I've put a lot of faith in it
To add to those, Gamesplanet is also legit (they get their keys through deals with the original publishers).
They have three sites (DE, UK, FR) and sometimes the prices differ between them, so make sure to check those.
CDKeys is less official but I'd say they have a good track record, never had any issues with them personally.
I bought Scrap Mechanic a while back, worked fine for a couple weeks then got a Steam notification saying it had been removed from my Library as payment couldn't be authenticated
Hell no. They’ve sent fraudulent charges to my PayPal multiple times.
My bank won't let me touch anything related to them.
Fanatical has a daily deal with a decent game and they localize to your currency. I'm pretty sure they purchase directly from the devs too so there is no sketchy source!
