They couldn't have picked a more appropriate picture.
so given that gibraltar hasn't even been touched does this mean like a 99% chance of a no deal brexit now?
owned
well it means chequers is off the table (which it always was) so guess it's only no deal great
He isn't British (which is why he has nothing to lose).
New Zealanders don't seem to want him either
But he more of delusional otherkin-like mindset guy that he wants be exaggerated cartoonish version of British nationalist that he isn't born their country anyway.
Are the people in that picture falling from Big Ben the fat controller from Thomas The Tank Engine?
he's as otherkin are to animals for himself to british people
Like fictional British characters that are loyal or patriotic to United Kingdom.
On one hand, this greatly concerns the future of myself and everyone else in this country and a No Deal scenario is going to be a fucking disaster for decades to come. On the other, I can't help but feel great delight every time that Theresa May gets Blown the Fuck Out like this.
This is literally nothing new, we've been reading for quite a long time the arguments the EU has had against the Chequers plan. Whether they should continue to push it, who knows, depends whether May is correct about that if they go for a free trade deal, it ends up cutting off Northern Ireland from the rest of Great Britain, thus the preferable option is No Deal.
Bomben auf Engeland. What fascinates and confuses me so much about the Brexit negotiations is it seems like the UK insists it's acting from a position of strength, when it's blatantly clear that they're not. Comparatively speaking, the EU is more powerful, stands to lose much less, and is better equipped to absorb any losses it does incur.
be careful about making a spectacle out of your own disgust. that's the grassroots cause of how trump was elected.
You do realise how fucking detrimental to the Northern Irish and Republic's economy a hard Brexit on the Irish border is, right? The North's economy would stagnate to the point of economic depression jesus fuck how is it this difficult to understand?
My hot-take on this: British politicians know there's no way they're going to be better off in any way after Brexit, so all they can do is act the strong-man while obviously not being the strong part, to save face internally. The rest of Europe is laughing at every demand they make, but if you're one of the people dumb enough to vote leave, you're probably not smart enough to notice just how skewed the balance of power is against you.
I understand, however if it threatens the integrity of the UK then its another thing, as she said a PM cannot accept that. The EU has to concede on their attempts to push the border into the sea.
Strong brexit, Hard brexit, full english brexit, peoples brexit, "pick and choose" brexit, no deal yesterday brexit, upside down brexit, shoot in the foot brexit, throw yourself in a woodchipper brexit
no it's the UK's attempts to bush the border into the sea - This isn't the EUs fault, it's the UK's. They're the ones pushing this forward, so they are the one at fault. By your logic. The UK threatens the UK's own integrity. What?
The UK isn't attempting to push the border into the sea, its only been the EU's demands that have asked for that as a way to 'avoid a hard border', however at the same time it threatens the UK's integrity. This is why negotiations have ground to a halt.
WTO demands that countries using their rules have and maintain a non porous border. Otherwise 2 trading partners (whilst operating under WTO rules) could (perhaps inadvertantly) break those rules by allowing untariffed/unregulated goods crossing the border - effectively giving those 2 partners preferable and unfair treatment. Without a hard border there is no way to enforce WTO rules. If we have no deal we will need to abide by WTO rules, and to do that we will need a hard border in Ireland. Unless you buy into on David Davis' """technological solution""" On a totally unrelated note here is a quote from David Davis: And there lies the difficulty. Faced with intractable problems with political pressure for a solution, the government reaches for a headline grabbing high-tech "solution". Rather than spend the resources, time and thought necessary to get a real answer, they naively grasp solutions that to the technologically illiterate ministers look like magic. And most ministers are very illiterate about any serious technology. Yikes. Self burn? or was David Davis intentionally misleading everyone with a technological solution? It doesn't matter though because he's jumped ship. I wonder. No deal => WTO rules => either hard border betwee Nortern Ireland and Ireland or having a trade border between NI and the rest of the UK. Both of the above options are shit .'. no deal is shit. Since no compromises are being accepted by either side it's overwhelming preferable for the EU and the UK for the UK to remain in the EU and cancel article 50 (as we can legally do at any time). Honestly Boilrig didn't we all discuss this stuff already?
Doesn't stop him from spouting the same nonsense, I am still waiting for a credible scenario from you @Boilrig were the UK gains something, anything from this. A scenario backed by reasonable assertions, logical predictions and most preferably some hard evidence. Just spewing empty platitudes and saying "Everything gonna be alright" isn't honest argumentation.
If you like I could ask my 3 year old cousin for a credible scenario it's bound to be about as equally factual as anything Boilrig spouts.
Hey, I never implied that anything Boilrig gobbles up is a high bar by any means.
Do not kill Angela Merkel
Considering our government has acted like a bunch of entitled whiny children throughout this whole process I think its very unlikely anyone from the EUs side would ever support making Brexit easier on us. They just have to sit back and let us fuck ourselves up and the UK would act as a permanent reminder that leaving the EU with literally no plan is a stupid idea.
Uk government pushing the decision into the future and all around being total asswipes without any plan is why the negotiations have ground to a halt? I can finally agree with you.
All this is true, but the Tories have gotta' look 'strong' for the voters. If they didn't care about looking good for the voters I suspect they wouldn't have gone through with Brexit at all. The majority of them know how thoroughly awful Brexit is at it's core, but half the country voted in favour of it and I suspect considerably more than half of their voters did. It's decision after decision of weighing up the country's future vs their career.
