Ohh hell. The classic console trend has gone too far.
Who actually wants this?
Get ready for the glorious flood of 2009 YTP HD remasters
I'm so ready
Does Nintendo have to sign off on it, though? I can't find a copy of whatever contract gave Phillips the rights in the first place, but I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't account for future releases.
I'm looking forward to this since it'll no doubt be in the clearance section within a few months and I like to collect these things.
Give me a Turbografx mini-console.
Nitendo paid Philips to repro the consoles so that scalpers will buy them en masse only to realize nobody wants them and they have major overstock that they lose money on. They are then dissuaded from scalping in the future when Nintendo releases N64/GC Classic
This piece is what all true warriors strive for
If it comes with stuff like Flashback, Dragon's Lair, Defenders of The Crown, Mad Dog McCree and other ports then it could be a neat system, but there's no way there'd be interest without the meme games.
Time to post this timeless classic

Finally. Now the world will get to experience Plumbers don't wear ties in true HD.
Unreal Superhero was my JAM back in the day, and I never even pirated software.
To make this a bit more real, there's no fucking way Nintendo will sign off on the only thing people want for the system.
What about The Flowers of Robert Mapplethorpe in glorious 1080p?

I'd get it for shits and giggles if its cheap
I do! Time to relive my childhood memories of The Wacky World of Miniature Golf!

That artstyle reminds me of the humongous games like putt-putt and others I always loved how you would pretty much click anywhere and something would happen.
I remember playing Hotel Mario on the CD-I my dad had.
It was horrible.
Fuck yeah, Eugene Levy delivering lame puns in an over-exaggerated version of his own accent!
Fun Fact: The CDi cost Philips 1 Billion USD in losses.
why are spongebob jokes and CD-I cutscenes the only thing I can remember verbatim? this is the shittiest talent ever
Actually this is pretty cool if they can get zelda and mario on there. Yes they're terrible games, but a lot of people want them to look back at a bizarre piece of gaming (and youtube) history, and experience how bad they are for themselves. But they're fucking expensive games, they're like $100-$500. And emulating them is a pain in the ass too. So, this actually holds a lot of value for someone that wants to play these games without shelling out hundreds of dollars
I do, I seriously want a CD-i.
I was going to buy one but it's just so expensive and the games are hard to get.
I really want to play the CD-i Zelda games, just to see what life could have been like.
I'd pick this Legacy Console up in a heartbeat.
