Yeah, i'm suprised, that they've added a lot of unreleased stuff, like this man-bear and some skins (for tacticia for example).
That being said. How one gets assets out of ue marketplace into other programs?
I also noticed samurai skin for Countess which i haven't get from game's client and i'm not sure it was in files prior shutdown.
I'm surprised too ! the countess SKIN is so sickkk
Hey George! I've already extracted a few models as an experiment. What I did was download the Unreal client, and started a new project, add the character you want to extract to that project. Open up the project, and dig down the folder structure to the meshes of the character (or skins folder if you want the Tier skins) and right click on the mesh you want, select asset actions, and export to fbx (which will include the skeleton). Alternatively, you can use Glidor's tool, though that will extract as a psk, and will need to use PSK importer for 3DS.
For the textures, it's a bit trickier, but still doable. The models use a lot of masks and PBR textures. What I did was bake out the textures. Baking it straight from the model makes the process crash for me. So what I did was to make a new folder, and copied a simple shape (say a cube from the standard shapes into the new folder). Then I apply the materials for the different parts of the character on to the cube. When you go into the edit window (double click the cube), you can then apply any materials on the cube. Once you do that, the very last icon on the left of the toolbar at the top is Bake Out Materials. There you can bake into discrete textures (diffuse, normal, specular, metallic, subsurface, AO, etc.). These will bake out into tga and can be easily converted to whatever you format you need.
Hope that helps. =)
@HiryuX
That means that all color/detail maps are applied and baked into result textures? Neat, that's dope.
Maybe i will try this, when i'll free up some HDD space and try this one out.
As for Countess i meant that i haven't noticed Samurai skin in game files, not in marketplace ones))
@HiryuX
Could you please specify how exactly to bake out textures? In my case it creates just a material instance/copy, not actual textures. And this instance is not accurate, maybe i have to choose different blending options?
hey george -- are you on discord -- probably easier to walk through it there. send me a pm =)
