Seal slaps kayaker in the face with an octopus in New Zealand

A kayaker got more than he bargained for on a trip of New Zealand's Kaikoura island when a seal slapped him in the face with an octopus.
The video shows the seal coming out of the water, octopus in mouth, swinging the mollusc toward the unsuspecting kayaker.
The seal then disappears back into the water before going on to dive in between other kayakers.
Taiyo Masuda, 23, caught the seal on video and says the group did not realise at first what the seals were doing.
