I do this for 5-10 minutes per shift at work.

Evacuating my bowels and bladder is only a fourth of the reason I go to the privy.

Only 7 hours a year? I'm shocked.
7 hours is 420 minutes. That makes 1.15 minutes (69 seconds) per day on average per year.
That's nothing. Checking my mail while sitting on the porcelain throne takes more time than that.
I've got IBS and a litany of other stomach problems, that's like 7 hours a WEEK

I pretty much spend all of my 15 minute breaks in a stall
It really is nice and peaceful. But it mostly smells like shit.

But yeah, at parties if I feel overwhelmed I usually go sit on a toilet for like 10 min just to clear my head so not surprising.

Im doing this right now and i can say it's part of the job. Everyone does it.
Do this way to often. It just feels like its the only place you can go to get a moment of peace.

Woah I thought it was more per day.
On my last day of work at my previous job, I spent like 3 mins on the toilet, maybe more, unlike other days where I spend at most a minute, taking a piss.
I felt like such a renegade.
That's shitty.
I spend at least 30-45 mins a day. Good way to escape.
yeah, I work in an extremely noisy environment at the moment so I usually take a few moments extra to just take in the silence if i can afford it. it certainly makes a difference.

as a retail worker i can confirm no one ever takes less than 5 minutes in the bathroom on the job.
i dont really allow myself more than 6 cause lines at registers always seem to stack faster when i in particular go for the shitter
Between this an my IBS i probably spend 7 hours a week in the loo lmao
Have you tried any medicines and/or limiting your diet? I take dicyclomine before every meal and stick to foods that I know are least likely to upset me, and it's improved my condition a lot.
Ive seen improvements in doing diet limitation. Usually its fine but it can be triggered by anxiety. And the anxiety can be triggered by the ibs.
Im interested to hear about dicycomine though- whats your experience with it?
It helps a lot. I almost never have loose movements anymore, and if I do it's only because I went out of my food comfort zone. (the last one I had was immediately after going to applebees, so I'm never going there again, that's for sure). I'm also on a low dose of xanax, broken into half a pill taken before each meal along with the dicyclomine.
Ill bring this up with my doc- im seeing her shortly for my anti-depressants which were a result of my ibs. Thanks, dude!
Where the hell did they get that number from? I spent a minimum 40 minutes a day hiding from the world on the toilet. That works out to be just over 10 days a year
