"California is the worst state"
Awesome news. Net neutrality may die, but it's not going out with a whimper. Not as long as the people have a say in it.
Like 80% of people support NN, it's not very partisan despite the efforts by the right wing machines
So where's those states rights, eh boyos?
https://techcrunch.com/2018/09/30/trump-administration-sues-california-over-its-brand-new-net-neutrality-law/ In just in, The hypocritical "States rights" Trump administration has sue Californian government over against Pai rules about Net Neutrality issue.
The federal government is sueing a state government on behalf of an oligopoly that should have been broken apart a decade ago.
Jonathan Spalter, president of USTelecom -- a trade group representing broadband providers -- said while the group supports "strong and enforceable net neutrality protections for every American," the bill was "neither the way to get there nor will it help advance the promise and potential of California's innovation DNA." "we totally support net neutrality!!!! as long as you do it our way"
"neither the way to get there nor will it help advance the promise and potential of California's innovation DNA." I'm sorry, what? What innovation is done by ISPs? Its tech companies, who are for this bill and net neutrality, who do the innovation.
ISPs do the kind of innovation that makes you pocket a federal grant the government gave you to improve your coverage.
Can California become the new capital of the US, and we like, suplex the old capital and everyone in it into the sun or something? I feel more proud looking at the CR flag than I do the stars and stripes, at this point.
So what you're saying is that they need to take Hoover Dam and destroy the Legion.
Mental Olympics. I also overheard a student at my university (though he studies e-commerce) talk about how he'd "rather have better internet" than net neutrality. So far most ISP shareholder meetings said that net neutrality will not affect their investment in infrastructure, whether abolished or enforced, so it's basically just giving a bunch of greedy cunts more grounds to sell you shit you already paid for. I wish people would stop falling for this "benevolent business" thing because if there's one thing life taught me it's that everyone will fist your throat if it got them a gold ingot.
Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter.
Washington DC is actually a very liberal city, Trump staffers can barely find people willing to date.
I think it's funny that the GOP likes to jerk themselves off about states rights but overreach like fucking crazy
They only care about States' rights when it allows them to oppress minorities and women on religious grounds.
That's some steely resolve. Good to see some people in positions of power actually taking a stand over this to protect their constituents. All too often state politicians cater to business interests before the well-being of voters and consumers.
