https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2018-09-30-bungie-files-trademark-application-for-undisclosed-project-called-matter This lines up with the rumors that they're giving up the Destiny franchise to ActiBlizz and working on something new.
You know a dev can make more then one game right.
So much for a franchise with ten years worth of content.
nah i'm pretty sure it won't matter
Another cash cow gets ready to hit the market, nice.
Destiny is already the ultimate ruse because 5 of those "10 years of content" have already shown that they have barely any handle on what they're doing and they have no end goal in sight, much less any semblance of a plotline or reason to care about the world of the game. they're gonna have to convince me because they're clearly not the same house that halo built anymore
Bungie changed their deal with Activision fo developing four Destiny games, along with 5% of their employees being allowed to work on a project codenamed Marathon. This is likely that project's end result.
Hmm, hopefully this means a return to a proper FPS game.
Given much of the OG bungie crew that actually made thier old games great aren't there anymore, it's hard to say. It'll just have to be a wait and see. Destiny has been such a heap though, and pretty much destroyed all interest in Bungie.
5% on Marathon is pretty optimistic, still more than 0% on Myth....
Either way it won't matter (no pun intended) Jason Jones nuked the bridges with pretty much every pre-Halo developer* at Bungie with his obsession with his Pet Project Destiny. The spark is gone, independent or not. Look forward to whatever V1 Interactive is working on.
Destiny isn't a proper fps?
It's sad because Destiny's lore is actually pretty good but there's no way to reliably access it within the game. And even with all of the expansions of both games there's barely a decent plot to be had.
I think he means a more traditional story-focused one like Halo.
Bungie received over $100m as part of an investment from Chinese publisher, NetEase - which operates Blizzard games such as World of Warcraft, StarCraft 2 and Overwatch in mainland China - back in June 2018, and the publisher now has a minority stake in Bungie and a seat on its board of directors. Haha no
Plot twist: it's just another Destiny DLC. Or a Chinese F2P version of Destiny.
I mean, it wouldn't matter if they could or not, since they haven't made a finished game since 2007 anyway.
That’s a little unfair. Reach was a complete experience at least.
Oh shit, you're right, I forgot they made Halo:Reach. Cheers mate for the correction. Fixed my post.
First "Density" and now "Matter"? What is this, a dang science lesson??? Lol
