He knows the game by now. Anything unfavorable he says behind closed doors will get buried, but anything favorable will be touted as truth. He'd definitely prefer everything to be on publicly available on record for people to draw their own conclusions, rather than whatever propganda Democrats or especially Republicans will spin.
