We are introducing Renault K-ZE, an affordable, urban, SUV-inspired electric model combining the best of Groupe Renault: our leadership in EV, our expertise in affordable vehicles and in forging strong partnerships”, The French automaker announced the vehicle as being “affordable”, but didn’t release any pricing information. More information will be available when the vehicle is released next year. ... We expect the real world range to be close to 190 km (118 miles). https://electrek.co/2018/10/01/renault-k-ze-affordable-all-electric-crossover/
looks like a juke but like if they let the french redesign the front to not be fugly
You had me until "crossover." I hope this horrible fad dies soon. Crossovers are the worst, but it's smart of Renault to do it- they sell like fucking hotcakes to women.
Why are crossovers so bad?
wagons are better. And better looking
they have all the downsides of an suv and a sedan, and none of the upsides. They generally have shit gas mileage, are very bloated and cramped inside, and are underpowered, on top of being built on a car chassis, putting that shit under more stress with the added weight. People eat them the fuck up because it's ((((((((safer)))))))) (when they get the same rating as the car their chassis are based on) and ((((((((offroad capable))))))))) when they're definitely not. They're a half-aborted evolution of the stationwagon with literally none of the things that made stationwagons good.
Has disadvantages of an SUV (blind spots and exterior size) and none of the advantages (can't really go offroad), while generally being more expensive than a comparable hatchback, wagon, or mid-size sedan.
What a shit vehicle, no one asked for more crossover garbage. 118 mile range? Absolute joke.

Appliance car consumers don't give a fuck if companies have similar design trends. Enthusiast aren't a factor in the volume car game.
You take a hatchback, stick a 6" lift kit on it, make it 500+ pounds heavier and don't touch the engine (or just retune an existing engine, putting more strain on it), double the size of every pillar so it doesn't crumple like paper when the car inevitably rolls (giving it blindspots the size of Texas), then cover the entire vehicle in hideous plastic cladding to make it look "offroady" The Honda Fit and the HR-V, for example, are built on the same chassis. It's $3500 more than the Fit, but what do you get for your money? 6 extra cubic feet of storage, 15% worse fuel economy, even slower acceleration and you lose the Fit's agile handling. I agree to an extent. To be honest, this is reading like you are picking comparing suv and car with crossover interchangeably when it makes the crossover look bad. They generally sit between SUV's and cars for gas mileage, they sit between them in size and space. People eat them up because they get some of the features suv without losing some of what makes a sedan good. There definitely are some really bad crossovers out there, and the label crossover is too broad, but the concept is hardly a bad one.
crossover fffffffffuuuuuuuuuck stop with the fucking crossovers
Out of those three the Volvo is easily the best looking one.
People who buy crossovers because they're "offroad capable" are exactly the kind of people who will never drive off road in their entire lives.
Crossovers are great if you like a high and upright seating position. To more driving-involved people they're awful but for anyone looking for a comfortable appliance (90% of drivers) you could do worse. Old people in particular like them because when you get to be a certain age even bending over slightly to get in your car makes you feel like a dang contortionist. The whole point of these cars is that they're comfortable and provide reasonable visibility on roads already stuffed with SUVs and other crossovers. The points about crossovers having worse mileage, capacity, etc. are irrelevant when you remember that few people are robots who don't consider their emotions and just choose the most sensible option. Different things matter to different people, and the average driver prioritizes different things than the average facepunch denizen. Crossovers aren't necessarily the smarter choice. But consider that the smarter choice isn't always the choice that is most satisfying in the end. I say that as someone who used to daily drive a tiny convertible.
I like mine, i get 40mpg. Its comfortable for long rides and sits a bit higher then a sedan (which was a big deal for me when I left a F150 and downsized). Has all the features I want. I also have plenty of expansion room if I need to add a roof rack or trailer hitch for light tows. Just depends there are a lot of shit crossovers and lots of decent ones. No one else has to like it, but if they where nearly as bad as people made them out to be they wouldn't be all that popular. There is a reason people like em, that is fine. But hating something because it is popular never made people cool.
I liked it better when cars made em like mine: https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/460658468047814689/490708791483039776/c2i_138201891326.png
electric 4wd wagon mmmmmmm
piss off the juke is a great lookin car mate
A SUV is a civilized pickup truck; it provides more security than a pickup, while offering significantly more cargo space than a sedan and easier loading than a station wagon. They're still a goddamn blight because it's caused an arms race of manufacturers trying to make the biggest fucking SUV possible with the most pathetic engine, but they have a reason to exist, even if 90% of the people that own them should just buy a sedan - just like 90% of pickup owners who buy a $40,000 gas hog because once every two years they need to move a bookshelf.
Why a crossover? The Renault Zoe is a properly good-looking electric car. The only electric car which has ever appealed to me visually. Crossovers are dreadful and this looks dreadful. But I'm not in the market for an electric, unlike people who would buy a crossover, so not like my opinion counts.
Bonus points for the sports concept. Looks MAD
it just looks like they forgot they needed headlights when they modeled it and stuck them on at the last minute
The Zoe is also bigger, and has more range which just makes it weird. But if they can make this car for super cheap prices it will probably sell.
A crossover is just a smushed SUV.
I have to agree with people saying it's ugly, I honestly hate how they make cars look so bubbly and cushioned on the outside and then you will have shitty plastic interiors. Nah. I'll stick to my Gold Mk 1's/2's Those cars are gorgeous but these are just ugly, I don't know if it's to do with aerodynamics or if it's safer or some other reason cause I really don't care but at least be I suppose "less creative" when it comes to designing a car. Put that creativity to making it run better and more appealing to people, not making it look like that
Why's everyone rating this dude dumb for just asking a question lol
Crossovers aren't fucking "offroad capable" They're capable of driving on shitty roads and over curbs, two things that sedans/hatchbacks can't accomplish without damaging themselves
The front could have been done better, and it would probably look better all around. The only thing I like about it is that it looks like a futuristic SUV
