The thing is, it says 'then', not 'than', so they're actually saying that Minecraft music is better than 10% of music but 90% of music is better than Minecraft's. I like Minecraft music for accompanying the gameplay, although a lot of the piano work, whilst quite pretty and minimalistic, doesn't always harmonise that well. I don't think this was a mistake, and I actually think it was intentional to not resolve cadences as typically as one might normally, and I think it fits the sometimes disconnected nature of the gameplay, but I'm just adding my .2c as somebody who likes to write music.
This is a very strong statement to make when you consider how diverse everyone's taste in music is. I mean personally I'm a fan of classical and mellow sounding music so I don't necessarily disagree, but I also know a lot of people that aren't.
Of course. I think a less controversial to describe it is that C418's music is one of the most refined modern game soundtracks of the last decade. There's a wonderful amount of old soundtracks that I enjoy wholeheartly. Anything that nintendo releases (still holds up to the more modern releases but i feel it hasn't had the time to become culturally ingrained like the earlier works) Doom's soundtrack Half Life's soundtrack But only a few of "modern" era games soundtracks from the last decade that really standout for me. Minecraft (obviously) Terraria's is nice but i don't really know if it has the same staying power as minecrafts but i love it dearly too. Doom 2016 / Wolfenstein TNO Binding of Issac ( and pretty much any other game that Danny Baranowsky touches.)
