BALLADS 1 by Joji on Apple Music out October 26th
is he getting more mumbly or am I imagining it.
god this sounds like ass
I take it you're not an ass man?
Expected something way different from the likes of Clams, but this is chill I guess. Really want to see him produce for more people; ASAP Rocky seems to have stopped working with him lately, and his debut album didn't do to well I think...
As for Joji, I literally can't understand a word he says here which is pretty shit since the melody and beat could make for something genuinely nice
this is not a good kind of ass
This is a pretty disappointing beat coming from someone like Clams honestly, though I guess it would fit Joji's style more
I hesitated to call it disappointing because it's still genuinely good, but Clams' OG style is so good that anything deferring from that is naturally a let down. Just seemed kinda unfair to call it disappointing, but that's definitely how I actually felt
I’m a big can of Joji’s current work but even I can’t get into this one

how did Clams' production get worse? I know this is just his most well known track but I mean... man this is forever sick
That weak ass drum machine doesn't fit the rest of the beat at all.
It hasn't gotten worse, he's just trying a new style I guess. His 2016 album was filled with stuff almost as good as I'm God(doubt he'll ever top that masterpiece though), such as Be Somebody:

Honestly the Pink Guy songs that Joji did were way better. Like I'm not talking about liking them because the songs were memes, but because they actually sounded fun. I'm just not a fan or the work he does now.
needs more cowbell
VERY BAD
even the music video for this is more enjoyable than the song

This is his album cover:

absolutely beautiful
Ehhh when it comes to music I like to think to each their own, but it's bizarre to see joji's forgettable music video getting 1.3 million views in a day, whereas it's taken Beck's cool new song and video (directed by Edgar Wright!) 5 days to get 235k views.
I can't stand this mumblerap stuff but even I can see that one appeals far more to the more modern generations of music listening crowds than the other does.
Beck's from the early 90's, dude. Great music or not, there's no way he's going to have the same draw, or instant appeal and audience as someone like FilthyFrankTurnedBoringMumbleRapper does. George is heavily heavily heavily riding on the massive success he had as Frank, a channel that has/had almost 6m subs, and it's moved over to a currently extremely popular genre of music. S'all.
Frank has a massive holdover audience of highschoolers and early-mid 20-year olds who will listen to this stuff and 'vibe' to it hardcore, the kind of people who will know there's a new tune from him and immediately flock to it, Beck... doesn't have quite the same centralized appeal.
