Microsoft announces app mirroring to let you use any Android app.. https://www.cnet.com/news/microsoft-makes-it-easier-to-send-text-messages-from-your-pc/ Bloomberg Microsoft announced a new feature for Windows 10 today that will let Android phone users view and use any app on their device from a Windows desktop. The feature, which Microsoft is referring to as app mirroring, looks to be Android-only for now. However, it looks to be a significant step in helping bridge Windows 10 and the mobile ecosystem after the demise of the Windows Phone. https://twitter.com/Windows/status/1047224970403667969?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1047224970403667969&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.theverge.com%2F2018%2F10%2F2%2F17929908%2Fmicrosoft-app-mirroring-android-windows-10-desktop
Yes, this is actually the first time I've looked forward to a Windows 10 update
the october update is out now btw.
epic now i can play minecraft pocket edition while playing minecraft
Fucking finally, a real answer to iMessage for Mac.
infinite loops with chrome remote desktop let's do this
would be cool if the microsoft store worked so i could install this woops it broke in the update
About fucking time, no more Bluestacks.
Interesting
How's the update in terms of stability? I need to upgrade and this version seems as good as any to get off 8.1
This isn't app emulation, it's like a remote desktop for Android apps.
Wait, this is in Your Phone? Even if your phone is paired over Bluetooth, or even signed into Cortana with the same Microsoft ID, you still need to pair phones over phone number, which it sends an sms to to activate. Yeah, I'm just sticking to scrcpy. https://github.com/Genymobile/scrcpy .
such is life with windows 10
Did I win the OS lottery because I never, ever suffer the stability issues people often complain about with Win10
Plot Twist: you can only do it in the Edge browser. Seriously though, this is a pretty neat idea. I'm not sure it'll be used much at the beginning, but I'm keen to see where this goes. I'd love to play something like Fallout Shelter on the PC.
You can get it off Steam or the Bethesda launcher, both free
The future is here
