I have to say that the Dutch are pretty awesome. I'm pretty sure they helped us out with something else last year too.
Dutch intelligence helped me move into my new place, and looked after my dog while I was away. All round great guys
They did sail up the Thames and fuck up our ships about 300 years ago, but apart from that, they're pretty cool.
I know Russia has always been shady but is it just me or has their been an increase in shadiness in the past decade or so?
It's always been happening. Lately Russia has been put under a microscope of every intelligence agency and journalistic entity in the world, and for good measure.
Dutch intelligence had access to cameras at Russian Intelligence agencies, and through those they managed to figure out that the hackers that meddled in the US elections were actually not just lone actors, but part of Russias Intelligence. When they took this info to the US, all the feeds the Dutch Intelligence had in Russia mysteriously went black shortly after, which pissed off Dutch Intelligence and highly suggesting either incompetence or malice from the US handling that kind of sensitive information.
Really interesting in how the Russians tried and also how the Dutch officers waited until they enabled the device so there's no way they could say they just had a bunch of guys driving around with electronics in their car.

They targeted the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons? Wow, as if we needed any more confirmation that Russia supplied al-Assad's chemical weapons.
