I've been thinking about this for a while and it might be a really stupid idea, but let's see where it goes. As you may or may not know, I've been working on the Rising Storm 2: Vietnam pack for quite some time now (over a year and a bit) and for an unknown* reasons (*procrastination, laziness and real life getting in the way) the pack has still not been finished and released yet. HOWEVER I am still working on the pack. And most of the testers to whom I've sent the W.I.P. pack, can confirm that there is quite a bit of content in it. It is not only a character and weapon pack, but I am also porting vehicles and various props - both as effects and objects with collision meshes. The devs and SgtJoe aren't making this any easier for me as they keep adding content to the game as well as to the GOM mod. I've also had a few people telling me how historically inaccurate some of the in-game stuff was and I felt like changing some stuff here and there. If you've been following this thread The Facepunch Model Ports and Hacks Thread V6 then you may have seen some of the content that you can find in the pack. If you haven't then here are some screenshots: http://www.wduwant.com/index_uploads/uploads/c00e174893fa.jpg http://www.wduwant.com/index_uploads/uploads/220a618e4139.jpg http://www.wduwant.com/index_uploads/uploads/751102afc15e.jpg http://www.wduwant.com/index_uploads/uploads/65bde4d7a4a7.jpg http://www.wduwant.com/index_uploads/uploads/8ce69d0e10e0.jpg http://www.wduwant.com/index_uploads/uploads/2660ab05c7.jpg http://www.wduwant.com/index_uploads/uploads/df4c7fc97758.jpg http://www.wduwant.com/index_uploads/uploads/487aea9f0ca2.jpg http://www.wduwant.com/index_uploads/uploads/f819a15de0b0.jpg http://www.wduwant.com/index_uploads/uploads/7ee60625588e.jpg http://www.wduwant.com/index_uploads/uploads/03b692f7473b.jpg http://www.wduwant.com/index_uploads/uploads/ebba46c42938.jpg http://www.wduwant.com/index_uploads/uploads/a1c7baadd.jpg http://www.wduwant.com/index_uploads/uploads/688a2df8ab5b.jpg http://www.wduwant.com/index_uploads/uploads/2b2cebec19bf.jpg http://www.wduwant.com/index_uploads/uploads/cfa5c5ab5c25.jpg http://www.wduwant.com/index_uploads/uploads/d3ef38e0f.jpg http://www.wduwant.com/index_uploads/uploads/9e31ff83d987.jpg http://www.wduwant.com/index_uploads/uploads/8f00a49ce118.jpg http://www.wduwant.com/index_uploads/uploads/c6b9c0c6ef4c.jpg http://www.wduwant.com/index_uploads/uploads/1f27212ade47.jpg http://www.wduwant.com/index_uploads/uploads/0674d3d27f47.jpg http://www.wduwant.com/index_uploads/uploads/0a6baf2.jpg http://www.wduwant.com/index_uploads/uploads/e2241bf58dfa.jpg As you can see, there is plenty of stuff in the pack. A lot of still needs fixing or better implementation though. Now, if you have any questions regarding the pack, please do let me know and I'll try answering you as soon as I can. At the same time, please note that questions such as "when are you going to release the pack?" or "can you send me the pack?" will be ignored. Why? Simply put; I don't know. Whenever it's finished - or at the very least, whenever the character models have proper face posing. I have also decided that I would no longer send the pack to people who ask for it. My Steam friends list has swelled up from the influx of people asking for the models and I have more than enough testers now. If people choose not to ask anything, then please think of this thread as a "preview thread"

@TheDaveSecond you said that people complained about not them being historically accurate, Are there to many to list or is it possible to list them?
@aspiring3dmod I may have worded that badly. It wasn't really complaining as much as it was informing me about the inaccuracies. I am actually quite thankful for some of these people, but the one that really comes to mind right now is Ska Cat Manifesto. He has been very helpful and informative when it comes to Vietnam war. Some of the changes I've made thanks to him were; making the front of the US, AUS, ARVN webbing shorter, adding extra ammo pouches and other gear that was not added by the devs, adding extra camo skins, adding the green camo band skin for the M1 helmet, changed the position of certain items attached to the webbing - namely the compass pouches, flashlights and grenades. ...and possibly more, I can't remember now. Thanks for the question!
Awesome work, are they rigged in valve skeleton?
@Frosty1940 No, they used the original rigging, but most of the bones are renamed to match Valve.Biped. Thanks for the question!
@TheDaveSecond Thanks!, By webbing is it a part of the uniform or helmet?
@aspiring3dmod By webbing, I meant this; https://img00.deviantart.net/9025/i/2013/094/1/f/wolverine_vietnam_webbing_by_mandalshark-d60ga3w.jpg I've made the part of the suspenders that goes over the chest shorter. How will you be going about the gear and things like that? Are they bodygroups or bonemerges? And are these solely for SFM or are they for Gmod as well? Historically accurate or not, these are incredible and you've done amazing work so far!
@Seamonkey767 Combination of bodygroups and bonemerging. First you spawn in the character model and the uniform model. You can change the bodygroups on the uniforms to suit your needs. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/78659/34df276b-6432-441f-8515-334528e8ec34/20181005203221_1.jpg Next you spawn in the webbing. Which you then can customize with bodygroups. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/78659/404f2c71-038f-49ae-9730-c4186e907ccf/20181005203454_1.jpg https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/78659/09b7cb33-5b0a-4323-959c-99e7b226c732/20181005203544_1.jpg When you're done, you apply it to the character via bonemerge tool. Then you can spawn in other stuff, such as hair, headgear or more gear and bonemerge it to the character. You can even use other faction's gear as it sometimes may be compatible. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/78659/78dd77b8-6da6-4fee-a94a-537a2658f45a/20181005203644_1.jpg To answer your other question; They are mostly for Garry's Mod, but they should work in SFM just fine.
@AwfulAgent47 Well, to be honest, for a while I felt like quitting Source porting altogether, but that's not as easy as it sounds. A long long time ago, I promised that I'd make a better port of the Crysis North Koreans and Americans after this. But we'll see. I've still got quite a bit of work ahead of me. Making facemorphs really kills all the fun of porting for me. It is very tedious. I mean, it wouldn't have to be, if I knew the more advanced ways of doing, but I'm stuck at the basics. Anyway, thanks for the question!
@AwfulAgent47 As of right now; 5.20GB uncompressed.
Well, to be honest, it's mostly the character textures taking up a lot of space, because most, if not all of them, are 4096x4096.
Good work! but i have a question Will it be possible if we port rs2 particle?
@JohnyES I have tried porting some of the effects before, but they didn't look good in Source. And I am talking about the 3D effects, such as napalm trails. If you're talking about the actual particles that could be used by Source's particle system, then I wouldn't even how or where to start. So, porting 2D cards or 3D static effects is possible for me, but actual animated particles? No can do. Thanks for the question though!
I have some question too, Is this pack includes a bush for the helmets? P.s You really do nice work.
@jjh043125 Yes, the foliage camo will be included for both factions. However, it may be limited to the M1 helmet and the pith helmet. There are currently 3 variants for the M1 helmet. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/78659/9e5c6c05-b27d-49fb-9c9a-c3786f967086/radioman.jpg Thanks for the question!
Thank you for the answer, I really hope I can see this soon. Thank you :) Thank you for the answer, I really hope I can see this soon. Thank you :)
quick question Are you planning to release the weapons models in separate packs or together with the human models into one big file?
@Element45 That is... actually a very good question. Everything is currently in one huge pack (+5.6GB). But it's not too difficult to find what you're looking for in it. However, I might separate it into smaller packs. So again, that was actually a great question and I thank you for it.
Thank you. I'm looking forward to these models.
Nice models ! Like to work with them !
Is there a planned date you're going to release the models for the public?
@Underain https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0d6yBHDvKUw My original plan was to have everything ready to be released by Christmas or the New Year, but I am not very optimistic, since it's already 12th November. So yeah... Real life + procrastination and laziness get in the way very often.
Well..you can release it and keep updating it every couple of months..
Yeah, but then again, I don't like it when people download an unfished pack and then complain about bugs without downloading patches. So I would rather finish it all before releasing it. Not sure. Right now it's one pack. I might separate stuff into a bunch of smaller packs, but I need to finish the pack first before I move onto matters such as these.
yeah i get it, that people will complain and make a big deal of an unfinished mod.
When is the release of these models, and can I give them the WIP of these models?
I've said it before; there is no planned release date - just like Half-Life 3, I'll release it whenever I feel it's ready. Anyway, I am pretty confident that ComradIvan will release his models before I do. From what I've seen, his models are of much higher quality since he uses assets from several fairly recent games. Also, I'd rather not have people share the unfinished pack among themselves. If it were slightly more polished, I wouldn't mind, but the way it is right now... yeah, I'd rather not. Obviously, I can't stop anybody from sharing it with others, so there's that. Plus, I'm taking a break from porting RS2 content because I feel like I've been taking it a bit too seriously and it's really not been good for my mental health. Honestly - thinking about what sorts of different bodygroups I want to have for each model every time I am taking a shit isn't something I want to go through again. So I am taking some time off to relax a bit, play some games again and stay healthy enough to be able to go on my planned vacation.
Mr. Dave, I'm pretty sorry for saying this. But I got to say this. I really like your rising storm stuff and I was trying to wait, but I have to go the military pretty soon because every South Korean man who aged over 20 have to go, so I really want to use your models before I go military, I don't care about quality and I'm not   this port with anyone,  So I really hope you Share your port with me. I'm really sorry for saying this, although you mentioned that you're not going to share this port with anymore, I beg you to. My email address is jjh043125@naver.com, So please. Really  thank you for reading this, and sorry for my bad English.
