I was wondering for years what the fuck was going on with this store. They opened 5 shops within a 10 mile radius near me, and all five randomly went out of business within a year.
The money laundering must have attracted too much heat, have to shut down and wait for things to cool off
There's a massive conspiracy theory going around that the reason Mattress Firm opened so many stores is because it's basically a giant money-laundering scheme, and this just kind of seems like it'll fuel those conspiracies..
Deserved for taking a great name like "Sleep Train" and turning it into the most generic corporate garbage ever.
I hope they have a soft landing.
it took me several years to realize their name was a play on 'firm mattress'
nevertheless, it's probably going to be quite firm.
Best part is their asses opened one in Georgia in Dublin not to long ago...made no sense.
it took me several years to realize their name was relating to a mattress company, as in a "firm". I always saw firm as a description of the mattresses they sold.

The mattress firm near me is was like a ghost town
There's like now one in it all the time
I was wondering why there was a news story on a random mattress firm, now I realise, it's an actual company.
I remember being in North Carolina and seeing FOUR Mattress Firms all within sight of each other.
