im not liking what i see :c
I have more faith in modders to make something out of the Fallout 4 engine than Bethesda.
That looks so clunky, also its weird seeing other people fucking around since the it looks almost identical to FO4. I feel like seeing other people in the world kills all the immersion from the missions and the atmosphere. We'll see how this plays out.
This guy is absolute wank at showcasing the game, doesn't help the with the constant framerate drops. I'm going to wait for some better coverage before making opinions on this, because this makes it look like absolute wank.
Boy howdy that looks dull.
I guess there was a big press event, there's some Youtubers with short videos and commentary over it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_kTepXkc_E Here's 3 hours of raw footage and no commentary, but the uploader put in the comments they stuck to the edges of the map and Bethesda noted the outer parts were 100% optimized to their standards.
Thankfully you have Fallout Miami to look forward to
Honestly I think It will probably run better on a PC. And hopefully they fix the framerate stuff. That's why they are doing the stuff with the BETA and whatnot, to find and hopefully fix bugs. I'm hopeful that this game actually looks good. It has some cool looking enemies, new weapons, and some interesting quest and faction stuff.
And Fallout Cascadia. And Fallout 4 New Vegas Honestly there isn't much beth can do to hype me up at this point with the quality of these mods.
See now this makes it look a bit better, though I think all the fun comes from playing with friends so when you see these gameplay segments were they're going solo and you just see some randomer spazzing in the background it just ruins the view. I've been jazzed with the idea of multiplayer Bethesda games, so hopefully this played out at least half decent and maybe can lead to some modding efforts down the road.
It's... Odd. I think I need to collect my thoughts to sufficiently say what I have in mind with Fallout 76 later. But my overall opinion is that it looks hastily made and, with the direction Bethesda is going in attempting to try to push the store it doesn't bode well for Fallout 76.
i liked what i saw with a few complaints: pump action shotgun very good. animation for it very bad. the indoor lighting is very weird and unpleasant. and i quite hate how clean the whitespring hotel looks. its recorded on a fucking console and i'd have liked to see a framerate that wasn't shit
Game feels so empty without human NPCs.
Take me home, I don't wanna be on this country road anymore.
"You don't need NPCs when you can have other players"
Bethesda can barely code a single player game I don't know why people thought they could do a multiplayer game.
The game looks very pretty for a Bethesda game. But hey, what's Fallout without the flavorful inhabitants and their politics?
This is what i thought when they didnt show any gameplay with the cartoon trailers. A clunky and empty FO4 with litte change bar a new map and MP.
From the footage it almost looks like a FO4-wannabe clone off Steam's Early Access in some parts. And god that VATS implementation seems completely dogshit. 1:34:20, yeah, they weren't lying
I like how the first thing the character does is vomit, as he has just seen the game's animations and environments.
I've tried to keep an open mind about this, but its pretty much exactly what I expected. I predict that I will get bored after about 12 hours of playing this than go back to Fo4 or New Vegas.
If anything this looks worse than I expected. Jesus, BGS has all these resources and they still have a game running at such dogshit framerates like this. I think probably the worst part out of all this is that it's probably still going to sell 2x as many copies as Prey and The Evil Within 2 combined.
I can't remember, but apparently there's meant to be a plot reason for everyone in West Virginia vanishing even though they didn't get nuked too bad. Something to do with a particular variant of wildlife (think Tunneler-level bad) being a huge issue as well. That's just from memory, I may very well be wrong. I think it looks... okay? I'll get it eventually, if they add it to Steam and once prices have dropped low enough and most of the playerbase has died off. Not really interested in a Fallout game that isn't Fallout.
This looks really bad for a game that is supposed to be out before the end of the year.
looks utterly fucking mindless
Besides the framerates it doesn't seem too bad for a first multiplayer Bethesda game. Surely it'll run better on PC.
Not a fan of the idea of having only players as humans, I know it's "only" 25 years after the bombs but I feel like it's a cop out to not have npc humans around. Plus I feel like it was a core gameplay loop of all fallout games, go on an exploration trip, amass loot, go to a town or settlement of sorts, talk to people, sell, buy, restock, hang around, then leave again. Taking the whole town aspect out of the equation feels weird (well, npc towns).
The whole video seemed to pretty much be him shooting ghouls, with a randomly roaming robot or dog to break it up. It's already getting old, and I'm just watching it.
It feels like you're playing a landscape mod where their isn't any civilization, just set points with things to shoot.
