JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) — Alaska Republican party leaders plan to consider whether to reprimand U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski for opposing Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s
confirmation.
The party has asked Murkowski to provide any information she might want its state central committee to consider.
Party Chairman Tuckerman Babcock says the committee could decide to issue a statement. Or he says it could withdraw support of Murkowski, encourage party officials to look for a
replacement and ask that she not seek re-election as a Republican.
He says the party took that more extreme step previously with state legislators who caucused with Democrats. He says all this follows outrage from Alaska Republicans.
Murkowski told reporters that if she worried about political repercussions she wouldn’t be able to do the job Alaskans expect her to do.
Note that she won off write in ballots against both parties' candidates last election.
Either you follow the Party Line, or get fucked.
The GOP as of 2018
No room in the Good Ole Boys Club for the conscientious.
More like "Good Ole Perverts".
"How dare you not support the morally pure and bipartisan Kavanaugh?"
He's already been confirmed, you damn babies. And if you're taking cues from McConnell, Obama's been gone for two years now.
Free thought has no place in the Republican Regime.
Ah yes, party be country. Yeah, fuck off GOP.
Maybe she should just go Independent, doesn't seem like she even gets anything out of the GOP at this point.
gee remember when the right was outraged that voters promised 3 million to fight collins and they said that was bribery?
ya fuck them
This is some straight fucking bullshit. She voted based on how the Alaskan people wanted her to, and what was right, and now they're saying she should be reprimanded? They can fuck off honestly.
Even if you're independent you have to caucus with a party to be able to be assigned to committees. That's what Bernie Sanders and Angus King do
Which then you get slammed for "not being a real democrat, or republican."
Tfw youre more in trouble for not voting with your party than you are not voting for your constituents. Can we make political parties illegal please?
Washington didn't want parties, but they sprung up the second the Constitution was enacted. Initially pro-administration and anti-administration, then Federalists and Democratic-Republicans, and so on.
