'Lilo & Stitch' Live-Action Remake in the Works at Disney

'Lilo & Stitch' Live
It is unclear whether the new project, which is intended to be a live-action/CG hybrid, is intended for theatrical release or for Disney's streaming service that is set to launch in 2019.
Rideback’s Ryan Halprin is co-producing.
The project is the latest in Disney’s successful strategy of mining its past animated classics and repurposing them as live-action tentpoles events. Cinderella, The Jungle Book, Beauty and the Beast and Pete’s Dragon are some of the recent releases, with Dumbo, The Lion King and Aladdin among those heading moviegoers’ way in the future.
Fucking unreal, please stop with live actions holy shit.
I worry they will completely fuck this up and end up with CG characters that look really out of place and odd with live-action stuff.
Lilo & Stitch is one of my all time favourite movies so I really hope they don't screw it over.
Id this why Ive been getting lilo&stich merchendise ads of facebook recently
teenage girl and her weird blue dog
Danny DeVito as stitch and I will watch
I will admit that I'm sort of curious to how The Lion King live-action remake will be received, given that it'll be the first big-name live-action* movie I'm aware of to (hopefully) not have any human characters at all. Really interesting to see how people react to that
*I doubt it's actually live-action, but rather life-like CGI. If real live action, big ol' kudos to the liontamers at Disney.
cant wait for the part when they have to throw lion cubs infront of stampede
or get a worthog a mircat and a lion cub to not eat each other.
The Jungle Book live action one was pretty alright (ending up liking it better than the original animated one even), I can actually see Lion King working, as long as they change things up enough to distinguish itself from the original but still retaining the same vibes.
Though kind of funny to call it live action at that point since it'd be 99% CGI (except maybe the environments) unlike Jungle Book which had Mowgli still played by a real actor on-screen
Really? I thought it was god awful. The cgi felt so off and the kid was not a good actor.
I came in expecting a silly gritty retelling and ended up instead with a fresh take on the story. The CGI reached some uncanny valley at first but after the first 10 minutes I quickly grown accustomed to it. It was really well made and despite some of the oddities at times, the realistic look managed to work with the expressiveness of the characters. The kid was alright, while he wasn't a standout, he didn't really had any bad moments and acted his role well enough, and can be said better than a lot of kid actors at his age.
The characters were well written and fleshed out, more so than the original, and it felt like an appropriate remake that retained that whimsical Disney feel with a modern take.
I also just have a soft spot for Jon Favreau's works and I felt like he managed to give a lot of heart into the film.
Fuck, like I get 2D animation is hard and Disney doesn't wanna bother with it a anymore, but do they really have to go all scorched Earth on their 2D classics like this? This is the worst fad.
only if it's just him painted blue and wearing a cheap dog ears prop
Please stop remaking classics for a quick buck. It makes you look like pandering money-grubbing scum. Which they ARE, but they should at least try to hide it.
They'll probably cast The Rock as both Cobra Bubbles and Captain Gantu.
I wonder who's gonna be Lilo's mom
Aloha ʻoe, aloha ʻoe
