A group of British politicians are about to be outed for their ties to Vladimir Putin's Russia, a Tory MP today said.
Bob Seely said the list - which includes peers sitting in the House of Lords - could be exposed within weeks.
In a dramatic intervention, Mr Seely said the politicians are believed to have overstepped the mark in their ties to the country and may have been in the pay of Russian oligarchs.
Mr Seely, who is also a Russia security expert, refused to name the politicians set to be exposed.
And he warned that Putin's Russia is hellbent on using the freedoms enjoyed in the west to sew discord in a 'more subtle' threat to the West than posed by the Cold War.

He told BBC Radio 4’s World at One: ‘There are some parliamentarians who are, apparently from what I hear, going to be mentioned in a letter which is going to be made public in the next few weeks.
‘I don’t have more detail at the moment. I am pretty sure I know who the parliamentarians are but I’ve been told in confidence so I can’t say now.
‘But that will probably generate some interest at the time and I think there is going to be some further action by government agencies on this front in the next few months.'

As amazing a revenge fantasy as that is, the constitutional crisis that would result would be worse than Brexit. Actually fundamentally worse than Brexit, because Brexit is threatening to fuck the UK's economy and restart internal strife in Ireland among many other things, but to have the Queen assert monarchal control over the criminal justice system, utterly bypassing and subverting the authority of the entire parliamentary system as well as interfering with the justice system, that would fuck the UK right up because the government is now potentially obsolete or the monarchy will be abolished and the UK will transform into a democratic republic (assuming it maintains the current parliamentary democracy model and doesn't decide to implement something else since all bets are off anyway).

Because the Queen actually doesn't have much power. Or, more accurately, she has some power but is extremely limited in using it and occupies a primarily ceremonial position.

You probably know this, but I'm just putting it out there for anyone who doesn't know that the Queen can't just do that if she wanted.
