• Picture this! Team Fortress 2 Singleplayer story mode (probably also with coop)

This probably has been discussed before in other threads, but since I'm very intrigued by the idea and I love discussing it I'm gonna make a thread about it. In my opinion, I would absolutely LOVE a singleplayer campaign in TF2, and I'm curious to know what you think about that idea too. I think that instead of following the comics, it should be it's own original story, especially since issue #7 isn't out yet(if it ever gets released for that matter.). And either it should focus on one class, or each class would get their own mission, or it'd be mission based and all 9 classes would be the protagonists, each mission have you play as a different class. Picture this; A mission where you play as the Spy and have to infiltrate a base and steal the intelligence. Or a mission where you play as the Heavy and have to make a push towards a capture point while also protecting your Medic. I think the idea has lots of potential, what do you guys think?
So pretty much Condition Zero Deleted Scenes?
Basically, yeah.
There is a custom MvM mission meant for single player called One Mann Army.
Well, I'm more talking about like an official singleplayer campaign. Even if the chances of Valve making it 11 years after the game released it are pretty slim.
That could be a cool way to improve the tutorials. It could give you little missions with a "scenario"-styled story line that's sort of in order, but doesn't conflict with any other established canon. Each mission would be like a challenge that trains you in certain skills you need to play competitively, like rocket jumping as a soldier or holding a point with the engineer. The missions would basically just be botmatches but with a custom, non-modifiable loadout and set of objectives that work like the contract system but they apply only to that mission. MAybe if you score well enough in all the single player missions you get a hat or something.
